Coco pot size:Less is more?

How many times a day do you water and is that a flood tray that drains? I keep having to use a turkey beaster to siphon all the water out of the pots when I water my coco and was thinking maybe there is an easier way like putting my plants into flood trays and having a dedicated water collection area. Your thoughts?

2x day watering first two weeks.
after that 3-4-5 times a day.

Yeah, it drains run off out.
Drip to feed- run to waste...
I use waterpump to manually empty the drain collection reso.

I like coco is smaller pots can grow 4 large plants under a single 1k in 3gal pots. most people use 7 gal pots.
