I recently was lucky enough to hae a successful seed shipment end up on my door, from none other than Gypsy. To make a long story short, After paper toweling to tap roots, then placing in coco only three out of nine seeds ever broke the surface.
The problem is/was fungus gnat larvae. I found them feasting on the tap roots of the yet to sprout seeds. Bummer.
I am scared to plant the others.
Gnats are under control as i have only seen two ever in my home, and killed it. The other is still on the loose, or the dogs swallowed it up.
Larvae are a different story. As per Heady Pete and WNinja, and weedhound's advice i used some mosquito dunks to combat them.
As for getting them out of the unused/reused coco i was told i could put it in the oven at 200 degrees for a few hours or flush the stuff with SM-90.
What do the experts here in the COCO forum suggest? I dont want to lose the rest of my seeds, and really want to pop them as i am now two weeks behind whatever schedule i decided i was on in the first place.
Thanks and Respect
