I've been thinking about a CMH for my vegetating area. Would a 250 watt be sufficient for a 4x2 tent (8 sq ft)?
Hmm. I don't really care too much about speed (since their mothers will be flowering for 8-10 weeks anyway), but I'm concerned about stretching if there isn't enough light to go around.
one more thing. does anybody have pics or knows what happens to those double glassed "open rated" cdms at bulb failure? does the glass contain the explosion or not? i just think that to be able to run them without closed hoods would give more versatility of application.
I considered building a ballast kit. I wired my own room, afterall. Then I thought twice about it and spent the extra $100 on a ballast that comes with a warranty and required 5 minutes between unpacking and use.
5g-7g to pay for the difference. My time is better spent growing than tinkering with ballasts.
YMMV.
Happy as little clams......
Not a single yellow leaf.

The inside of an Accendo 250W low frequency digital ballast...
The 400W works well in my 2'x7' veg area.I've been thinking about a CMH for my vegetating area. Would a 250 watt be sufficient for a 4x2 tent (8 sq ft)?
