Hello everyone. First let me say I about as new as they come to this...
So I've spent the last few months reading and gathering equipment to put together my grow. I've got a 5x5 tent with a 3x3 tray/stand & 25 gal res. Currently was planning on doing ebb & flow.
So, in my excitement to get things going, I brought home 6 little babies this last weekend. After talking with the guy I got them from, he suggested 5" net pots with CocoNot. When I get to the local Hydro store, I let the kid there sell me the 8" Eco Pots, figuring it would be easier to use something already made up. So I get all 6 transplanted into the pots and am watering by hand when it dawns on me that with these larger pots it appears that the root mass is way above where the fill line for flooding the table would be. I'm assuming this is a problem? (did I mention I am new at this!) So the question is now, what the hell do I do? Do I remove enough CocoNot to "lower" the plant into the pot and into the flood; do I get the damn 5" baskets I should have gotten to begin with and re-plant them, or should I leave them alone and just set up a top feed instead of flooding the table?
Please help. I thought I was ready to get started; now I just feel like an idiot. Attached is a picture of the pots in the tray last night.
