Yes this has happened to a group of us on our way up north on a fishing trip. Two of us had a DUI from 10 yrs ago, was searched hardcore then turned around and searched once again more thoroughly coming back thru the U.S. border.

We have gone on this fishing trip every year for the past 8 years, 4-6 people in our group spending 3-5 thousand dollars each on the trip anually. Thats ALOT of $$$ lost just from our group. Think of how many more are turned away as well.

Canadas loss, from here on out we will just fish here in the States.

I wonder if Canadians with similiar records are denied entry into the U.S.?

I doubt it...

My ex-brother-in-law has 4 dui arrests(2 in canada and 2 in the US) AND STILL COMES HERE EVERY WINTER TO DRINK AND DRIVE.

I don't understand - why would anyone want to get INTO Canada. Are the igloos that interesting? We've known for years not to trust a canuk. :moon:

No biggie - Canada would be on the bottom of my want-to-visit list anyway, way too cold to be basking in the sun on the beach. Son of a beach, did I say that???? :bat:

Drive across the border and you can go to bars, clubs, and the casino 3 years before you can in the US. A drive to Montreal for the weekend is usually a good (re: expensive) time for people 18-21 around here.

It's only cold in the winter. Just like many places in the U.S. If close to 100 degree temps (with humidity) is too cold for ya, I don't know many places ya could go

P.S. It's "Canuck"

I used to live in Montreal and yes the whole two weeks of summer is great. Now I live about 375 miles from the Canadian border [ US side ] where I get about 4 weeks of summer.

Stop taking the highways people. Whenever I go to the US we take my friends boat and stash all the clothes and shit we bought (we don't like paying duity-fees) in a plastic bag in the engine compartment. even with those Coast guards running around in their big attack-boats still stop us like once every eight trips.

Purposely mispelled so's not to offend any of our northern brothers. :bat:

I've spent a few summers in Point Barrow, Alaska and along the Aluetian Islands to experience the weather and nature - only thing is most states have a change in views as you drive, not all white, eh??? :pointlaug

Seriously, the border became a non-entity for us when the Canadian Casinos caved and went with the non-smoking fanatics. Why visit a country that's allowed laws as crazy as ours......why can't we find a sensible common sense nation governed and controlled by the people, for the people.....

Sorry to revive an old, sore subject here:

What's the situation like when flying into B.C.? (I mean on a plane, not via THC... ;)

EDIT: Wow. Can you hear the crickets? Seems like the poli-trickians have actually succeeded in deterring a lot of cannabis enthusiasts from visiting Vancouver, which is really too bad. :nono: Oh well...

After reading this thread I checked out the border crossing rules in Canada. I had a DUI in USA and I cannot go to Canada for 5 years, and then I have to pay money and ask if I can.
