Can a out of province Doctor sign MMAR forms?

Hi folks,

Well the title says it all. I qualify as a Cat. 1 patient as I have had MS for 4 years now. Not having luck finding a doctor in my province. I figured since the MMAR program is Federal a Doctor from out of province could sign it. I have heard mixed things about this and am looking for a more definitive yes or no for sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

The Doctor who signes a person into the MMAR program, must have a valid narcotics licence. They do not however have to be in the same regional area as the patient. Skype is a popular means of doing this nowadays.

Thanks for the info. I've heard of people flying out to BC to get their papers signed. Wasn't sure how much truth those stories held until now. Now I just need to track myself down a Dr.
