California Concentrate Laws

My understanding is that concentrates (hash, kief, etc.) is legal so long as you don't change the chemical composition of the cannabis.

So making budder, ice water hash, keif is OK. QWISO, butane hash, tintures made with alcohol, acetone, namptha, etc. is illegal.

Is it because some of the chemicals are left behind, like if you don't purge well enough?

if your talking medical the concentrates are thriving.... now by default since marijuana is a slang umbrella term ig goes without saying that under mmj anything cannabis related can be considered medicine, idk about altering the composition and all that... that would make a hash blend illegal while both types of hash would be legal.... i dont think that has anything to do with it. I think the making of the hash is the illegal part, not the actual concentrate itself. chemical hash extractions seem to be semi legal as there are many hash oils in the shops these days being sold that can only be made with either butane or co2...

but whatever, it needs to be legal. its by far the healthiest way to consume cannabinoids

Dude...I just told you-- I wasn't wrong--
Concentrates are allowed by 215...except the manufacturing of BHO-- Because too many ppl have blown themselves the fuck up--
So they made a Law, saying BHO is dangerous to make...(Can't argue with that)...so don't do it--:tiphat:

dude i got to disagree with it being dangerous.... how many people have died from butane "explosions"? 0... i cant even really call it a explosion because its not. its a flash. thats why when you see these places the house has damage from the shock and people get minor injuries, but its not like they are obliterating houses and losing arms and legs. or even fingers.

>>>did you know 20 people die from escalator accidents per year? and nearly 2 billion people use a esclator per year....

im not a fucking math wizard or nothing. but the numbers prove that escalators are seriously more deadly then butane extraction.

in fact a buddy of mine i taught how to make butane recently had a flash. but its because hes been doing it so long he got lazy and arrogant thinking that ventilation isnt that big of a deal. he blew all the windows out of his house, damaged his entire kitchen and has burns (not sure how bad) on his face arms and legs. but hes still alive.

ive done hundreds of extractions and never had one flash up. all it takes is ventilation. as long as butane doesnt pool up in a confined space, there really is no danger. so anyone with just the basic common sense can make this without a problem. but its like escalators, no matter how easy something is, there is always someone stupid enough to get hurt from it...

SANTA BARBARA, CA - 1/29/2010 - January 29th, 2010. This morning at 6:00 a.m. Santa Barbara Police officers responded to 1023 De La Vina Street to assist the Santa Barbara Fire Department on a structure fire. Upon arrival they found a second story apartment fully engulfed in flames. The unit and contents were a total loss. The exterior and an adjoining apartment unit sustained significant damage. Quick acting Fire fighters prevented the flames from destroying the entire complex.
Fire Department Arson investigators sifted through the ashes of the interior, assisted by SBPD detectives. Evidence of illegal activity quickly surfaced: Approximately one pound of marijuana was found inside a locked fire proof safe, and 30-40 cans of butane were scattered throughout the residence. Investigators determined the early morning blaze was the direct result of an illegal marijuana conversion operation: the residents were using highly flammable Butane to convert marijuana from leaf form to concentrated oil.
Based on the investigation it appears that these individuals were producing concentrated marijuana oil to be sold to a marijuana dispensary. The concentrated oil is used in the production of edible marijuana products. Arrested and booked at jail were: Luis Antonio Murillo Aguirre, age 30; and Krista Marie Gary age 23; for: Unlawful possession of marijuana for sale, unlawful conversion of marijuana to a concentrated form, and conspiracy to commit these crimes.
Given the fire's rapid growth and the dangerous presence of Butane cans, the Fire Department deserves special thanks for protecting the surrounding neighborhood.

....whats your point? 33 percent of home fires start from cooking fish, should we outlaw fish frying because some people are too fuckign stupid to know how to cook fish ?

im not a fan of this nanny government shit. let people learn for themselfs. where will it stop? are we going to get rid of airplanes and cars and dinner forks because someone somewhere might do something stupid and get hurt? thats facism bruh. this is fucking america. we should have the right to think and act for ourselfs...and honestly we NEED more stupid people to die off. its called urban darwinsim. if we lived in the jungle these people who die on escalators or get hurt in butane flashes would be the ones who get snatched the fuck up by a lion or tiger or some shit. fuck em. the strong (or in our case the smart) will survive while the weak (or the stupid) perish

Holy rabbit hole batman.

Maybe this will help?

HS 11006.5: Concentrated cannabis means the separated resin, whether crude or purified, obtained from marijuana.

SECTION 11357-11362.9

Pertaining to marijuana

HS 11357. And I agree with you disagreeing with me-- lol
I was more letting the OP know that Concentrates are legal under 215, than I was agreeing with BHO being outlawed...tho I didn't make that very clear in my post--
The main issue I have with BHO, is that many ppl don't purge it properly...and the ppl buying it are under-informed...and smoking butane--:tiphat:

Urban Darwanism, lol. Its true though. I cant imagine going to the mall and someone in my group dying from an escalator... that would not and wont ever happen to me. or hearing on the news about a tragic escalator death at the mall... hahaha. i wish i would be lucky enough to hear some hair brained shit like that go down... i mean how the fuck is that possible??? baggy jeans caught in side, escalator still turning... only thing in the way is the foot, off it goes, then that pant leg, then probably a tangle then other foot. So people are being de-footed by the escalators????? hahahaha

So really who is to blame???? Baggy jean makers or escalators? lol.

off topic but remember those shoes Crocs? They were getting stuck in escalators...a few weeks ago at the mall, we heard a kid screaming and turns out he was wearing those and got one wedged in the escalator....someone was thinking quick and hit the emergency stop. 3/4 of the shoe was gone...kid was freaked out but OK.

I have not read the relavent laws, but would assume that the distinction is that with budder, ice water hash, keif and the like they are truly just concentrated cannabis.

QWISO, BHO, tinctures, etc are extracts of cannabis, which in fact do change the chemical composition (not by chemical reaction but by solvent removal of certain constituents of the raw cannabis).

In the real world, it is a bullshit distinction that the law can hide behind.

Thats in where the problem lies. But its not hard to spot poorly purged bho if you know what you looking for...and the average end user consumer shouldnt be the one to have to inspect...that should be on the dispensaries end. If they cant tell good hash from bad hash they need to find someone who can....

Very funny shit!! Your paragraph could be added to many deadly accidents stories; guns , look before you leap, etc.

I think large autos should be outlawed(Cadlillacs, etc)!! Because they cause more damaged when wrecked in a DUI!

California Law...

California Law...

any and all concentrates are legal, in the same amounts that herb is legal, under 215.

however, PRODUCING bho (and only BHO) is a felony still in cali. you can possess, but cannot produce..

make sense? i didnt think so...

i claim bullshit. bho and bubble hash use same idea. your simply removing the plant material to solidify the resin of the plant. what makes it difference if you use butter, water , or butane to get to produce your concentrate??
