All the current offerings are derived from the Grimm bros. originals. They are mostly bred towards the Pineapple or Grapefuity phenos. I've ran F2's from original Grimm stock. I wouldn't call the buzz short lived. It hits hard at first and gradually tapers off. If you want a kinder effect, go with a hybrid, since Cindy tends to breed fairly true in the buzz department. At least that's my experience taking them to F3.
I found the Cindy F2's and F3's a bit too racy and preferred crosses to the straight Cindy genetics. I think it makes a hell of a parent plant, imparting a shorter flower time and more resin to crosses. That's my opinion, your mileage may vary.
Look at the various Dutchgrown Seeds crosses. She uses Cindy in a number of her crosses. You will probably find something that strikes your fancy.
Great info! I'd love to see some pics of your C99 and crosses!
I'm running my first C99 hybrid now, a cross of Chem D X C99 and can definitely say that this hybrid is dominated by the C99, which really surprised me! The smell is very tropical and ALL Cindy, as I also have a Chem D and this plant looks/smells nothing like it.
Is C99 leggy? Does she get pretty tall with long leaf stems and that overall "leggy" look? I only ask cause that's how my hybrid looks. The smell is just amazing, although only about 2 - 2 1/2 weeks into flower.
It is always better to take the original Brother Grimm.
Unfortunately, since 2005, no C99 seeds produced by BG.
Dutch Grown has a good alternative
look no father than my sig, or my avatar for pics (or my gallery)
The avatar is Hash Plant x C99. That was easily the most potent herb I've ever grown. I used a Seedsman HP (NL#1 x HP f1) mom x a C99 f2 dad. Zombie weed!
My sig is Mr Greengenes Cherry Bomb (Maui Wowee IBL) mom x the same C99 dad. He chunked up the CB and cut about a week off the CB flower time. Didn't step on the CB traits other than that, but did add a Pineapple pheno to the mix
C99 did not get leggy. Grew more like an Indica dom, with medium nodes. Kinda weak stems IMO (even using a fan), buds tended to bend the side branches towards end of flower.
Like I said, a bit racy for my liking, but awesome parent stock, and potent stuff.
Interesting, when I said leggy I should have stated I meant weak stemmed. Vegged under flouros I didn't get great nodal spacing, but under the HIDs for bloom it's much better.
Here is a shot of my Chem99 at day 18 of flower, let me know if this looks familiar to you. My Chem D is so indica and dark green, this plant is lime and the leaves are thinner and smaller with shallower serrations.
Chem99 (Day 18)
From seed, in a 5 gallon container
Does this look C99 dom in your opinion? I can tell you that smell is very tropical and fruity, which is what shocked me, because I really thought the Chem would dominate this cross.
2005 try 2001.
