Wife got the kids electric scooters for Christmas. One blue, one pink. My job to put them together. Get the boys done and i want to plug it in to charge so they can ride them right away. Instead of continuing to read the directions, i take it into my head that the "gas" pedal is where it plugs in.

Thinking all the time that's a weird place to put the plug in where the kids foot will always be kicking it. Give it a tug, nothing, harder tug, still stuck. So i give it a bigger tug and rip the damn spring out. Now it's broke, i tore the whole thing apart and gotta try and figure it back together even though i can't fix it properly. :fsu:
Poor guy is gonna be real upset when his sister takes off down the side walk laughing and his ride is broke.

And the best thing of all, my wife does not remember keeping the receipts. %$&*.
I need a few bong hits :bongsmi:

Well i got it back together. Nothing like the other one feels like when you push the pedal. But it's the best i can do. We see if it works when the morning comes :gift:
Few more bong hits and a glass of whiskey is what i feel like now, been a long day.
Merry Christmas everyone

Paint it a nuetral color and and say it's both theirs until u get it fixed.

Don't paint it just tell them it's the only one you could find and they'll have to SHARE it, till you can get another one.

By the way where did you buy it? just take it back tell them it came broken..

It's X-Mas there to busy messing with returns and exchanges to care.. Good Luck

I know the feeling, I got my kids a bad ass go-kart, and no shit within 20 minutes of them riding it the starter got jacked up, the carb fell off, the fuel lines plugged up.
I've been working on this stupid thing for 3 weeks to get it ready, fresh paint, tune up, etc.. was running sweet, it hauled my fat ass around the yard the whole time while they were at school with zero issues.
Oh well, now they get an impromptu garage lesson.

Merry Christmas, I hope it worked out!!

Give it to him and act like everything's fine, and then when he says it doesn't work, look at him and ask, What'd you do????
Ten seconds and you broke it already???

Don't worry though, daddy will get you a new one first thing tomorrow when the stores open.

damn BB...you know sometimes the stores dont mind if you bring something back without the reciept... they might just let you exchange it out if you tell them what happened....the store wont lose anything....jmo

Well it did not work first thing, but he was just happy he got a "motorcycle". Then once his sister started riding hers around he got upset. She said "hop on' and patted the back of her seat and off they went. And she's been sharing since too, which is a big surprise, but it looks like we are making headway.
Then my wife figured out how to take it apart the correct way, she could not fix it correctly, but removed the spring and a screw and it works good enough till we get to the store and exchange it.
Oh he lost the peddle, so we are looking for that before we can exchange it.
All in all it went very well

Good deal, sounds like it turned into a good lesson in sharing for both of them, nice.

Damn Brother Bear, you have more grateful kids then myself. A couple of scooters and your the best dad on the block.

My two sons ask me to hive them power of attorney for Christmas.
I told them I already had something Mexican picked out for them for this years Christmas......NADA!

I bet they never ask for power of attorney around Christmas time again.
