Bugs in my soil

Yes, I believe what I have is hypoaspis mites. They cropped up on their own, and after a lengthy battle, have found a lovely niche in my microherd.
 
crosseyedmary - cans of pesitcide fog are only usefull imo, if you have an above soil bug problem that is out of control. they effectively wipe out "most" of the bug population, so a natural and preferably living solution can take care of any survivors. i don't recommend using them, or any chemical poison unless your problem is really out of control. unfortunately springtails live in the soil and are not effected by bug bombs. nematodes etc, are the best solution. food grade peroxide may also provide an effective knock down or elemination. i read an article yesterday that mentions using food grade peroxide to kill fugus gnats in hydroponics, so it seems to have some real merit.
