Hey everyone,

Just wanted to stop in for a minute to add to the discussion about harvest window. I took mine at day seventy. I usually go by feel and appearance, and it felt a little early. Trichome inspection said the same. I was surprised at how many clear ones I saw. But I didn’t have a choice of waiting longer to harvest. So seventy it was.

Anyway, I had Pre-98 tested. And got confirmation from a lab of what I saw. From the comments in the ‘Bio Analysis by Microscopic Visual Inspection’ half of the report:

“... Trichomes are significantly more clear than milky with 5-10% turning amber in color...”

So in my case - looking for a more couchlock narcotic effect - I might’ve been better off going another five to ten days. But whatever, I’m enjoying the day seventy harvest so much that I had it tested - first time ever for that.

I grew 2 bubbas s1. One was a little runty and didn't yield much, but had one of the best smelling flowers so far, like a perfume type smell, done in 8 weeks. THe other had more vigor, better yield and took a few weeks longer to finish. Didn't have much smell to it, but frosty tight nuggets. Both very stoney high's, very good smoke, still got 2 seeds left for the future! Very good strain overall!

I've got some of these in the fridge. I'm going to have to see if I can get one to pop on my next round. I sure hope so.

Thanks, VG!

This is my keeper. Not big on yield but leaf shape, growth, smell reminds me of pre98 the most.

My keeper just full of seeds right before the chop. Pollinated with Deep Chunk. She's small in order to control seed count. Just threw another much bigger clone of her into flower Sunday.

hi zach, not sure how you are growing these bubba S1s but they can be quite vigorous in a decent soil and large containers. the growth stalls very quickly once they get anywhere near rootbound. best to grow them in a tried and tested soil mix that you know plants do well in.
i'm sure they can do well in hydro etc too - i just dont know much about that!

let us know how you get on,

VG

For what it's worth, the photo below is the rootball from a BK S1 in a one gallon PPK. The original plant grew much faster in the PPK than the ones I currently have in soil, and never really seemed to slow down. If anything, it seemed to be growing faster over time.

I was eventually forced to take a bunch of cuttings and chop it due to it overgrowing my very small space, as I literally just didn't have room for even one more plant.

I'm currently vegging those cuttings out and hoping to flip in the next couple of weeks, though. Decided to monocrop them :dance013:
