Bitcoin cracks US$100

All of you laughing because the coins dropped should actually be buying them up....there going to keep going back up THEY DROP ALL THE TIME AND ALWAYS GO BACK UP now is a perfect time for someone that thought they missed the gravy train to buy in and make some money, although it is still nothing compared to when I bought mine for less than $5 and sold them for $230 bucks and if I told you how many I bought you wouldn't think this "bitcoin scam" is such a scam as I have A LOT of LEGAL money in the bank from this....

They are going down because asshats are panicing that the price is dropping so they are selling them for WAY less then they should which drives the market price down. if you look at mt.gox the low is $120 the average is $165 BUT the the HIGH is at $258! So some people are still easily selling their coins to others for over $200....the "low" price is just the lowest price that someone has sold them for in the last 30 seconds, it is their fault for being stupid and selling them for less then they should of but people that are smarter benifit from the asshats mistakes..... If people weren't so dumb and selling their coins for way less then the average the price would not drop, but watch, things will level out and the average will soon be over $200 like it was before and then everyone that was smart enough to buy coins right now instead of laughing at the people who didn't sell them before the drop are going to profit. I even bought some late last night because of the drop because I KNOW I will profit and I've already made enough fucking with these coins to make me more then happy but I couldn't resist buying them up when I saw the price drop that fast :)

I'll buy near the bottom. Not the day after the crash.

Sure.. there is a lot of money to be made off of the volatility day in/day out, but a hell of a lot more risky then just taking your profits high ~200+ and waiting for further sell off.

The bottom is not found in 1 day.

Try again ... :) It's a lot of maths, cryptography (SHA hashes are at the heart of Bitcoin), and demand -- and if there was no demand there wouldn't be over $1 billion market pool ... there is no "SPECULATION" to account for why a lot of us made a lot of money today, but feel free to call it whatever you want :)

Most detractors in here are not "laughing". We are just pointing out that this is a trade and not a viable currency at the moment. People are making money hand over fist TRADING Bitcoins. Extreme volatility negates something as a currency. Extreme volatility makes something a good day trade. It's more than just semantics. It's a very important distinction.

I've been following this closely on ZeroHedge. It seems the pattern is price shoots up, the exchange in Japan is slammed with DDoS attacks, people panic sell, DDoS subside, and buying resumes on heavy volume.

Like I said before BitCoin is a phenomenon rooted in the accelerating global collapse of sovereign balance sheets, banking institutions, and fiat currencies. It's a way to trade the end of faith in the current globally centralized financial and governmental system. It is not at present a viable currency alternative.

I do like following the price action as this is one exchange that is traded purely by humans. No high frequency trading algorithms (Skynet) that makes up 70% of current market volume and no central bank manipulation. Although, it quite apparent that the exchange is manipulated in other ways. For those that are making money on it, more power to you. I didn't get in early enough and don't plan on messing with it now. My investment capital is tied up in other means.

Orders will not be accepted for the moment as we need to upgrade our database to accommodate the trading volume. However, you may still cancel your pending and open orders. Trading will resume at 11.00 am JST. Our apologies for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this issue.

im going to watch the price, and get in when i can. I figure a 5k investment should yield a decent return if i can let it chill and not be impatient

dagnabit *sigh* ... haters gonna be haters.

If you want nothing to do with Bitcoin, FINE!!!... <---
... (but what are you even doing popping up randomly in this thread now?!?) ...

Why waste your time hating on people simply because they've been successful from it? there was never anything stopping YOU from investing -- you're only whinging now that others have been successful because you missed the boat... sorry but I find that quite sad, and disrespectful to others.

Do you also hate on people who've made money from gold or foreign exchanges? or business projects? your best friend who won a few grand at the casino on the weekend? or ... ?

Life is a gamble. If you can't handle people making money in ways that you've missed out on, that's your loss, but no need to be a sook about it.

So, why be such a hater? I wish the best for every fellow icmag member, and I've been glad to hear throughout the day that quite a few friends here have made a handsome return today - I just wish you'd gotten in a few months ago so you'd be enjoying it with us rather than being spiteful, but that's the beauty of retrospect! ... :)

Peace.
