best state for outdoor growers

I'm just wondering what you people would recommend as the best state for outdoor growers. Living in one of the top producing states year after year its becoming more and more of a hassle to grow as the flyovers become more frequent and police funding continues to increase. still knowing that this is the united states are there any states out there that aren't completely flooded with other growers and constant police surveillance all the time? something that's low key or has every good place out there been blown the fuck up? what about abroad? just looking for any kind suggestion.

Othewr than being a legal grow...seems like its the same every where. Wouldnt expect people to discusse this in open forums...maybe PM this Q to the older more experienced members!

If you are talking about commercial growing outside i would think that any state will crack down on you because all states have help from the federal government. If you are already from cali then stay in cali if you wanna grow mass. Or go to oregon.

My guess, and it’s a guess is it’s less to do with a certain state as far as growing goes and more to do with a remote area.

The less people the better has always worked for me. I'm not saying I have this type of area but some people in the desert southwest have less people to worry about but more work to maintain there grow.

It’s an interesting question to me because there are so many factors. Take Tennessee or Kentucky for instance they have great climate and large tracks of unused land but the pressure from other growers and LEO is much greater.

Could go on and on but its always been my opinion that a very rural area maybe even economically depressed one that does not have large suburbs or big cities nearby are prime growing areas. And again maybe they are not because now you have transportation to think about so many variables to calling something the best area to grow in.

Short answer I have no idea I wish I did.

canada is nice but it has short outdoor seasons. i'm not interested with indoor grows really. i just want to grow my plants outdoors and be left the hell alone. ya' know? i also want to grow sativas and canada isn't the best place for that.

the southwest sounds nice but i suspect there's a lot of pressure down there due to the large Hispanic population around there. i don't have a problem with them but it being so close to the boarder and with immigration being the way it is i always figured it would be a hot area for growers.

i guess it would have to be out of the country. probably somewhere in central or south america. then again i don't know what the laws are like down there country to country. i suppose its rural in most areas down there that it doesn't even matter. anyone have any countries they can recommend? how would one go about living abroad for extended periods of times? etc. shit, i wouldn't even know where to start.

You have to leave the country first. Go traveling. Fly somewhere. Stay a week or two or a month if a big country. Get a map of the place and study it, travel around, talk with people, go hiking or rent a canoe, smoke with locals. You know: active holidays. You have to get to know a country a bit before you commit yourself to living there for extended periods of time. And it's good to speak the local language. Without the language you're just a helpless tourist.

After you visited a couple of places and liked some of them you can start researching the ramifications of going to live there. Do you need a visa? Do you need a work permit? Job? Place to stay? Do you need to learn the language first?

And if you want to sell your produce, you should probably stay in the western world.

But man, I don't know who you are, what resources you have and what you are trying to achieve.

I hear Spain is very lenient towards growers.
Also, size is an aspect that you want to consider. If you're talking about a modest outdoor grow, maybe 20-30 plants max, then I don't see why you need to leave the states. Not that they wouldn't arrest you if they caught you, but as long as you're smart and discrete you shouldn't have too much to worry from LEO (they're looking for the thousands of plants grows, not a hobby grow).

I lived in Main for 2.5 years and it has short outdoor season. It will limit your outdoor strain selection. Other than that it’s a nice place about the same temps as Midwest but shorter summers and more snow. Many people make a living tipping, clamming and blueberry picking. Where I was at least it was interesting that there were many individuals making a living off the three things I mentioned and no regular job per say.

I know we have some Main growers to chime in because my experience was many moons ago and things have surely changed. I was about 90 min east Bangor.

I have a place in maine.my growing mentor is from Maine as well.True they are pretty lenient IF they don't find any guns near your plants..including the hunting rifle in the closet. Trouble is the season is shorter and LOTS of people hunt and lots of people look for grows..
Fiddlehead picking is another source of income for Maniacs too..peace

right, maine has such a short grow season i wouldn't be interested. i was looking into Idaho. lots of open rugged terrain. low population. etc.

any thoughts?
