You are all crazy using a company to get access. Why are you paying some one for an access program that is free. Don't give a cent to these people who are ripping of the sick and dying. Shame on you for supporting them.

If you really have a medical need then you can find a doctor without much of an issue. If you don't have a problem then yes you will have a difficult time finding one. Which means you shouldn't be looking for one. Step aside and leave the program alone for people that need it. The reason why Health Canada wants to take away growers licenses is to stop all the fakers, fraugs and organized crime.

These companies are taking advantage of a system that is not working and people that need it. If you need a doctor and you really have a problem pm me and I can send you a list of doctors that will treat you for free as long as you need it

People get pissed off at posts like these for good reasons. It's NOT that easy. When you've seen a GP for a decade and they shut you down, it's disconcerting and tough to just "simply see another doctor who'll sign MMAR papers".

I pressed my doctor pretty hard and despite being brash online (I only come here to learn, lol, and look at stupid cat pictures) I'm pretty well spoken in real life. I had my doctor in checkmate but he simply said he could not sign it, end of story. Basically an agreement with all that I said, but a refusal to sign. It just wasn't something he was prepared to do.

I've seen others too and it's very tough to get taken seriously. What do you do, build rapport and pop the question - then you get shut down and look like you tried exploiting them. Or you could just pop the question and look like a drug seeker who's doctor shopping... those are really crappy situations to be in. Either way, you're trying to play the doctor. It's not fair that we HAVE to do that, but frick... what other choice do we have?

I went to Dr. K Kanerva in Kelowna. He and Yvonne have been great to me over the years. I had to jump through hoops to see a specialist but because I KNOW I'm not BS'ing anyone, I did it. I paid their fee and despite there being a yearly fee, Yvonne hasn't asked for one from me. I sent my papers in and because I changed residencies, I had to submit a few more so my application is in limbo. My MMAR expired but I JUST resent the papers. She's doing the best she can. Dr. Kanerva is doing the best he can, and he's very empathetic and understanding. But it's tough. Perhaps they're exploiting patients too, but there are overhead costs and I can appreciate them. Hell, if I could afford it I'd pay them again but I'm very pressed for cash. They know that and didn't ask for another fee. They do take some cash up front to help you out, but it's the MMAR program that's crap. It's not them. Just like the situation with prohibition, it's prohibition that creates the environment we're in. Cops, crooks, average citizens like us, we're all just pawns. We need to change the rules to make an impact. This program is crap and it's no one's fault but the government.

Sorry about the rant but I'm passionate about this. Health Canada just sent my renewal back so I've resending things and a bit edgy. The program absolutely sucks. But if we want to be legal, we have to do all this garbage.

Took me 3 years after being in pain for 7 already to get my family dr to sign.
After he prescribed what he thought would be enough I went to another dr. I paid to get another prescription for what was more suted to what I really need.
Just smoking a good one with some sick hash thinking it was the right decision.

I never understood why but I had chronic migraines my entire life and no one took me seriously. Now I can finally treat myself the way that works. I hate that I had to and continue to have to jump through hoops. I almost want to kill myself sometimes to prove that I'm not lying. It seems that's the only damn way anyone will believe me
