Kinda fuzzy, but it looks like a June Beetle to me. June Beetles don't like weed, so don't worry. They live in the dirt around the plant, and usually come out at night.
Okay cool thanks. I couldn't get a better picture the damn phone wouldn't focus on the bug, but only on the leaf right next to the bug. I think it might have been too damn shiny.
The golden tortoise Beetle has a clear shell and the gold is like a liquid layer underneath it the beatle I saw didn't have that there was no clear layer.

Morphology wise, it looks like that oriental beetle, but I can't seem to find any pictures of them that are so brilliantly golden in color. If he's still there next week I will make sure and find him a new home on a tree.
