Anybody doing Master Kush

Hey all I have this nice cut of master kush, don't know any more about it really. From the picts o have seen of the SO Cal variety, it is not that. I have to say I am impressed with the overall vigour of the plant. She is an extremely frosty ladie and produces HUGE stems and branches. Anyway just wondering what people take on this variety as a whole. And I know there are kush hybrids and kushx skunk hybrids that go by the same name. Here are some picts at 4 weeks.

your M.Kush looks very similar to the one I have. I obtained it from a Humboldt dispensary. Where'd you get yours?
The So.Cali variety you speak of is the so-called "OG Kush" which has definite sativa lineage though is very potent. My "Master Kush" has fat webbed indica leaves but shoots a bit taller than my other indica dominant varieties a few weeks after flowering. It stays thick, but is not pure indica.
I've been told that the California "Master Kush" is a hybrid of the DP M.Kush and the "OG Kush".
I have some pics I'll post to compare, and I have a grow report Im putting together.
let's keep this thread alive and see what others have to say-

peace

here's some dried M.Kush..

has a very unique smell, like ammonia and lemonade. After weeks of curing a hashy background develops.
if you have it, check what The Cannabible 3 (pg152-153) has to say about it, ill find more pics-

Mr Gahn, that may just be it, at least as far as appearances go. The smell you described though is not much at all like that. I woud say bayme sweet overripe produce, hints of pez candy maybe, with an astringent pungency at the end, especially if rubbed or squeezed. Was yours a heavy yielded? Nice pictures btw. Thanks for the feedback.

it could be your fertz. my buddy grew some of the same clones with a heavier fert. routine and had an overripe smell, almost like honey wine.
where'd you get your clone at?

Well that is an involved story. I have a friend who lives in Riverside count in SOCAL, he has his card. His friend goes to some dude in Orange county(?) to obtain clones. The clones were purchased at $20 each, from this guy who supplies the dispensaries with clones. Anyway I was given twoh of these. The smoke is great and tasted good the first hit, never got a chance to flush at they were pulled 2 weeks early due to root rot, cased by molassses. F'ing molasses!! So via word of mouth I think I have Master Kush. I have been running them at about 75-78 F averaging about 1200-1350 ppm at 5.5 pH. I have aprox. 3 weeks left, and they seem to have stopped bulking up. Minor tip burn but no biggy. Keep in mind that from these two I will have over 25 top colas, ranging in size of course. So I am wondering if maybe they are just trying to support too mant flowers to be big cola producers? Any thoughts? Nutes being used are GH Floranova and Kool Bloom.

25 top colas is alot.
i've noticed that there is some spacing between the buds and the crowns are more dense than they are large.
I prune for 3-6 top colas and get a pretty good response from the M.Kush. She doesn't put off a lot of buds, but the ones she does are dense.
If yours is from So.Cali and by the looks of it I would say that it comes from the same cross. Cali growers all stick to the same strains and you don't get alot of variety within the name game.

Ive ran dp's. It was easy to grow, easy to trim, not too sensitive to nutes. Decent yielder , tasted earthy with some incents like flavor. Wasnt too strong in the buzz department, something you could blaze all day witout getting too stoned. If i ran it again i would cross to something for more kick

Thanks for all the feedback folks. Luaith, those picts look exactly like what we have here. Some of the bushiest herb I have ever seen or grown. Ours is really leafy bud, which is ok because EVERYTHING gets dusted. We will see about yeild. Post picts tonight at dawn. Peace all

The real Masterkush (old positronics) is a great strain. I grew it back in 97. It is a cross of Hindu Kush x Skunk #1. All the ones I've seen from the dispensaries look nothing like the real masterkush. The one from posi grows and looks like a sativa. The buds get all the way up to 2 1/2' but not very fat. The buds get super caked and tast like hash and fruity pepples.

That sure sounds like the plant I'm trying to finish. Only the person who gave them to me told me he bred a Masterkush x Skunk #1 and produced these seeds. It definitely grew as a Sativa and I'm currently in week 11 of flowering. This will be the first plant I'll finish and I'm certain I did everything wrong to this point. Just guesstimating, I'd say I'll get about 6oz once dried &cured.

The one from posi grows and looks like a sativa.

How long would you say this cross should take? Masterkush x Skunk #1

The buds get super caked and tast like hash and fruity pepples.

I'm waiting ;>}
