3rd if u do have a nd flower in a system like this how the heck do u clean out the root mass after harvest if u have 4 dif sites on one tube, or should u just grow the same strain in the start in all 4 sites and just harvest them all at around the same time?? hmmm there is an idea.

ohh and i have had my hand at 5 gallon bubble buckest and 10 gallon 5 site rubbermaid tubs so im no begginer at hydro so please no lecs about how i should go with a bio bucket first thanks

great point, but ill be dealing with clones, and i wont be flowering from seed itll be from clone, but it might not make much of a difference.

hey Kanye Weed - if like no veg time and straight to flower, I have had no problems with roots chockin anything.. these had like 12 day veg, 60 day flower

diy aero, pretty cheap as compared. I have this main controller that I can shut off sites if i want. I can run 27 different sites and single cola them, essentially could do 27 different strains if ya wanted, or plug some holes and do like 7 plants strategically placed and scrog it. kind of customizable, just playing with some ideas, hope that helps... Yeah, that unit won a "Gear of the Year" award in High Times a few months ago.

Yes, it supposedly is a cloning unit. That said, there is no reason it could not be used as a veg and flower unit as well if you add a simple cycle timer to control the main pump.

Could it accomodate plants with a root ball of the size that appears in Freezerboy's DWC pic? No. But that doesn't mean it could not be made to work to grow a decent 12 plants SOG or for you to use only part of the net pot sites and use the unit to do a six plants Scrog or SOG.

It is simply a variation on the low pressure Aero setups I linked you to already in another post. If nothing else, it provides good inspiration in terms of design and presentation.

but no i wanna have alot of plants for a sea of green but i have been leaning more towards a scrog, cause i need at least 1/2 pound every 2 weeks, thatd be nice but is there any way to do a sea of green scrog, thatd be sweet, i dont think i have the room for that kind of stuff tho

nice but how did u clear out the roots at the end of the grow and replace with a new plant like in a sea of green thats my idea thats what i wanna do, and if this is possible then i may reconsider

i plan on having like 16 plants 4 per tube, and the tubes wont be connected like yours, theyll be seperate just like in the high times pic

my friend has a homemade system jst like that but bigger(room size). he gets great results but i question if its a true aero once the root zone fills up. with all thast root mass blocking the sprayers it would be considered a nft. if i were him i would use drippers instead of sprayers for less headaches. but hey, its his system & he is rocking out some great harvests (9lbs of cheese over 4k) so who am i to judge?

Agreed.

Most of the rigs using PVC pipe as a container for net pots and sprayers are described by their builders/users as low pressure Aero/NFT.

At a certain point in the grow, for the reasons you point out, it looks a lot less like Aero and a lot more like NFT or even SWC at certain stages of the grow. This is simply due to the sheer volume of the root mass that these grow systems yield.

Whatever the case, it appears to work and that's the test that matters.

I believe at wal mart. Theyre just solo plastic cups with holes burned into them....most likely with a butane torch or something. Props FB....like the originality. What nutes do you use, Lucas formula?
