This is my first time growing in years, feels good having something like this to look forward to.
I know the master growers will shudder at how cheaply/poorly I'm doing this, but this is more or less a test run until I get some new seeds from a buddy.
Cheap miracle grow soil, some kind of flower food from safeway for nutrients for now, and a 74 dollar, 70watt hps from home depot, and a cheap fan, all in the crawl space under my hoose.
It's under a birdcage just because it's easier than rigging the light to hang, and also because I want to see how well it works for making a screen.
I'll try to get some closeups once it starts growing a little more, I topped it after a moose stepped on it, and it stretched a ton once I brought it in the house and set it on the windowsill for a few months.
Didn't get many sunny days, so not much growth.
Sorry about the picture quality, my camera's been crapping out on me lately, so I don't even bother trying to make it good...
I'm just about at 65 degrees latitude, and it was outside for the first two-three months of it's life, and it seemed to thrive during the 30-40degree (f) days, I took this picture on a day that was just barely above freezing, and there was frost on the ground all night...

Once it was inside for a while the trics disappeared, but it's cool in the crawlspace, it'll probably be around 40 or so in there once winter sets in, so hopefully I'll have some nice progress to share with yas...
