650 watt HPS Church Scrog and some other stuff

Sorry about the scrog journal starting late, but theres some other stuff early in the game here. But first the scrog: (not the ideal lighting set-up, but it's what I had) 1-400w Lumatek ballasted HPS(in a cooltube- 400cfm exhaust) + 1-250w Lumatek HPS- not cool-tubed, but theres alot of air exchange in the tent, so the heat from the 250 is shuttled out pretty well. I've got-2 oscillating fans + 4 smaller(desk-type) fans pushing air through the scrog canopy.I use GH Flora 3 part nutes-3-2-1 veg/ and flower formulas+ a little (5ml/gallon RO water) CalMag+ if deficiencies show( this only happened a couple times-GH Flora has treated me well.My PH fluctuates between 5.7-6.1.This scrog is 2 Church Fem seedlings(pre-flowers have shown) vegged for a total of 9 weeks. The screen is 3x3 square, and made of used 2'-4' bamboo posts, tied together with zip-ties.Here we are at day 1 12-12.Today

And heres a little 2x2 tent I had from some time ago-150w hps(with attached 95 cfm exhaust) and 156wcfl's(6500k for brief veg- 2700K for flower) first a couple pics of my homescrapped bubbler.16 gallon rubbermaid(22"x 16") with 8- 4" net-pot sites.BFP + fancy airstones.I got them on light GH now.1-1-1-15 mils p/gal.This is a short strain, so I'll be veggin for a week before the switch. All my clones(33 in total) came from the bigger and more robust of the 2 plants-the one in the back. The last pic is from today-day 1 veg

oops... the front scrogged plant is in a homemade 5 gal bubbler with 2-10" airstones, and the pot is 8" in diameter. The big gal in back is in a Powergrower-dwc+ drip-ring tek

my very low-tek, 52w 6500K CFL clone rooter.Plans are to build a little clone machine. And the last thing is a cfl tent with 400 true watts(2x200w) CFL's.Putting the shine on it now, so I'll update yal soon.peace

and the 400w 2700K CFL flower tent. This is a hacked up homebox xs-my first grow tent. This tent was basically destroyed, and parts-namely the longer sets of legs-we're used to "shore up" the equiptment supports in the 650w HPS scrog tent.It stands 28" high-2'x2'.The exhaust is 2 rigged fans-4" in the middle- 8" upper right hand corner. At lights out I throw a tarp over the top-lights on is right before work, so removal is never a problem. There are 10-4" rockwool cubes in a tray-this is day 1 of 5 for veg-I know 2700K sucks for veg, but I dont have the 6500K's right now.Nute solution is half strength-"general purpose solution" 1-1-1, of GH Flora-6.0 PH.Temps are at 78 degrees-and it's bright, very bright in there.I just was lucky enough to have a successful clone run, and lucky enough to have the extra gear. Not one trip to the hydro shop that day

day 2 flower on the 650 hps scrog-after one day the screen(with a little help) fanned out and filled nicely- particularly the front bubbler which was a runt from the get-go.

and day 1 on the 400(true wattage) CFL tent. The filter box contraption on this tent is just 2 fans- totalling 60CFM- connected via heat resistant foil tape to 2-"riser" ducts made from cut down cfl reflectors.Which are "flashed" to the roof of the tent. The box is cardboard with the foil tape sealing any leaks. The larger 8" diameter fan taps directly(I made a dove-tail connection) into the box, and sealed up air tight. The second fan connects to the plenum box with 4" flex duct- also sealed air-tight with foil tape. The top of the plenum/filter box can be opened from the top, and charcoal filters are placed(cut to size) inside the box.The thing pumps, as the cab is just 28" tall-2x2.Not alot of volume for 60 CFM apparently.

this is going to be interesting...because I have no idea, having never grown this strain, how these clones are going to react under these conditions.I'm thinking a week veg now for each strain? I mean, this cross is more of a hedge than a tree.A week of 18/6 oughtta be sufficient for some nice single stemmers...definitely a learning curve here.

some pics of the insides of this ridiculous junk pile contraption-but damn if it dosent work!No need for the charcoal filters yet-but this will also double nicely as a herb dryer come harvest.I saw one of those tupperware herb dryers on fleabay for like 300 bucks! You see you could build something easier with scraps from other projects- shit, even 10x cheaper to gather the materials and build your own.I also added a high end reflector to the 2' widex 2' tallx 15" deep clone rooter cab- I have 52 beastly cfl watts in there- and I'll snap some pics tomorrow, but I threw together a 70w hps security light housed in a wodden box, with 2 pc fans- 1 for intake- another to boost out-take.Stays cool-80 tops. It;s glassed in-but I took it out because it stays cool without it.You can see I like foil take...

day 3 12/12 650w hps Church scrog. These gals are drinking a 1/2 gal of water each every day.Topping off with 5.7 PH balanced RO water one day, 5.7 PH balanced 1/2 strength nutes the next

150w hps/ 156 watt cfl (just added the 2 T-5's-3000K) 16 gallon bubbler tent- day 12 flower-using GH Flora-3-2-1, 30 mils per gal of RO water+5 mils of open sesame-5-45-19.Keeping the ppms at 1600-1650, and PH is 5.6

150w hps/cfl/T-5/+ some junk led's-a 45w HTG 660nm red panel-15w 660nm spot. And a find! I was at HD the other day and found these 3w diode puck lights(3000K)-2 per puck, on a strand of 3-18w total-so thats 6 plant sites-one puck shining up from underneath per site-The T-5's(3000K-24w)x2 are serving the same purpose-84w total of 3000k-"under-lighting".This is my toy, so expect some weird shit outta this one
