So, one thing I've read from the forums (from Hush) is that a reservoir should fluctuate in PH. between 5.6-6.3 or so. Mine may be fluctuating more than that but...

I've been noticing that on Monday or so, I'll change out the res. and then top up on Wednesday. By then, the water level has dropped and the PPM has increased. Even though I may be under-nuting them when I mix up a new res., when water starts evaporating and the PPMs go up, they are getting what they need.... An effect of having a res. that is perhaps much too small for the table.


I'm not topping up and adjusting ph every day, and they seem to be really exploding.

Not going to change anything except upping the nutes slightly every week. Status quo = success.

Starting a week ago, I transitioned them to the 12/12 cycle by removing an hour of light per day. The light was at 50% power.

600w HPS @ 75% power (450 watts)

I've found some small white bugs crawling around the black nette pots and the hydroton. I'm not sure if they are springtails or root aphids or what. Last grow I had springtails and there weren't any negative impacts. Some research actually said they were a sign of a healthy system.

So, I've been so busy with other things that I haven't been able to spend as much time as I'd like with the girls, and the neglect shows.

It looks like it got a little too hot in there and they started to yelllow and crisp up due to temps. I harvested one plant already because it was so weakened by the temps...

I cut the light back to 50% power and put more water in the evaporator to help cool...

Ran out of H2O2 for a few weeks and the lack of oxygen showed and smelled =(

Fresh buds have a very candy smell
Curing buds still have a very green/grassy smell... no report yet...

I look at some trichomes with the best little magnifying glass i have... they appear to be clear - some are amber, but those seem to be the heat-damaged ones...

I was thinking about harvesting at the end of next week...

I was planning to flush with nothing but PH'd water (with H2O2) for 3-4 days.

I was reading Hush's journal and he says he flushes for 2 weeks... Are you using soil? or is that Hydro? (i hope you read this!)

The chop is where I have the least experience...

So, they spent a week transitioning from 18/6 to 12/12 -- when they hit 12/12, I called that the start of Flower Week 1. So, they are half way though week 7... I don't really know what the strain is and I'm wondering when to chop. At the end of week 8? It's half way through 7 and I just filled her up with a nutrient solution.... Advice please =)

Also, why no H2O2 during flush? It helps keep bacteria down and oxygenate the roots during their 15 minute floods. I'm not opposed to stopping H2O2, just curious as to why =)

For the ''put to sleep affect'' let many of the trichomes turn amber. also by you feeding nutes recently you may see a growth spurt as they use those nutes. you don't want any nutes in the plant when the harvest arrives , so a two week flush is often advised

It seems you have to be watching the trichomes, and start the flush before the trichomes are where you want them, so that the plant finishes on time.

I was really trying to keep track of weeks and adhere to a schedule because I think last time I was eager and chopped too soon. They definitely seem to be a hybrid, so maybe starting the flush at the beginning of week 8 and taking them to 9 is a good plan. We'll see how they continue to develop after this last blast of nutes

I hear them saying they are almost done, but I don't want to jump the gun!

Here's some early harvest shots...

I chopped down one plant because it was looking really heat-stressed.. and in declining health.

wet trim, hung dry, curing...

won't stay lit in a jay yet, so it still needs a while longer on the cure. still smells a bit grassy too... can't wait for the finished aromas to start showing up...

I really like the yellow leaf look...

the buds are a little fluffy... the rest of the plants that are still finishing out I expect to be more dense...

came out to about a half ounce!

and I tried to get a trich macro, but i don't have a proper setup

good call on pulling , as dead leaves can leaves in dense buds can lead to mold try a dry trim next time , that seems to have helped me avoid the grassy smell....
