hmmm interesting question lies herein...

if i can buy something that was commercially released by a band does that an album make?
or must an album be a studio recording/"live album"
normally i would agree with you but the dead tended to defy conventions in music like; what defines a song or an album.

Half Man Half Biscuit, thats a band I saw way back in Liverpool, I remember they once turned down a prime spot on the BBC because Tranmere Rovers FC were playin at home!

christ how did I forget Love 'Forever Changes' ; i met arthur lee in Liverpool before a gig. his roadie said they stopped the tour bus somewhere near Liverpool and Arthur got out, looked around and said 'wow man this is a dark town'. The roadie said 'Arthur you've got your shades on'.

there's no such thing as the 5 best albums ever...

having said that, I can name 5 really great albums, in no particular order:

1. Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto (1964)

2. Wardenclyffe Tower - Allan Holdsworth (1992)

3. Amor Amarillo - Gustavo Cerati (1993)

4. Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time (1986)

5. Suffocation - Pierced from Within (1995)

won't post Floyd or Marley or King Crimson, as they have been already mentioned.

we chould give Jethro Tull honorary mention too, Songs from the Woods for example. Also Wes Montgomery

could post another great 5 albums later on.
