Nice to see You back superpedro.

Would You mind to give us some more details about Your BioFilter?
I have seen the diagrams and the pics in Your old thread but i cant dial in.
What kind of materials You are using as Bio/Sediment/Fine-filter?
Which pump are You using and what is the volume of the filter?

THX and good luck.

Hi there Palmero

f1a.jpg

The water returns from the aerobox through the PVC tube on the left side of the rez, to the bottom of the filter chamber. All heavy sediments ends up here.
Then there is some space from the bottom to the plastic grid. The space allows for sediments to accumulate, and makes sure there is good water circulation through the filter materials.
The next thin, above the grid, is a layer of coarse filter sponge, it makes sure dead roots or whatever, doesn't break into bits and end up in the aero nozzles.
Next is the material for bacteria growth. It's basically just a material with a large surface to low volume. I use lava rock, tried all kind of plastics and ceramics in other filter builds, but I found lava rock to be as good as any expensive product.
My pump delivers 2000L/h

It's very simple. The bacteria we are after, demands the same environment as the plants. If you add a filter material into your system, in a place with circulating aerated water, it will work!
In DWC i would put a layer on top of the air stones. Simple as that.

I would be happy to comment on a build of yours.

Cheers and thanks for stopping by.

About the grow, they need daily training now. :D, besides that, nothing needs my attention.
I received a few LED's in the mail yesterday, so I am about to do a little experiment:dance013: But more about that later.

Here they are from today:

Holy moly....those girls are getting big........you rock SuperP....!!!
Sampled the bud you donated.........nice stuff, appealed alot more when it is smoked compared to smell.....but a nice couchlock..!!!
I understand the interrest in SuperP's biofilter....!!! I had to beg for help to in that department from SuperP. and after just skipping the enzymes, darken the roots and adding bioballs to my rez. the plants were green as green. Saved me a bunch of cost in enzyme and had healthier plants...!!! You rock bro....:headbange
Give my regards to your closests.....and good karma to both of you...!!

Thanks mate.

It works great, it's strange bio filtering isn't used more.

The Aurora was alright, but wasn't the fruity go-to-bed pheno I was looking for...

Looking forward to more updates from your party tent.

 Peace

The grow

P1010021-2.jpg

Just another day of training, and then they are (almost) free to grow vertical.
I have cut a lot of branches, because I want half as many buds, but bigger, as in the last scrog grow. I think my light will perform better this way. (+ these genes grow like mad -thanks Ludo:jump:)

The consumption of P has gone up. The level has dropped from 75ppm to 65ppm in the matter of a few days = flowering starts now:jump:

Cheers

Some iso oil made from last grow of Aurora indica has left me pretty helpless on the couch... No big update :D but I managed to snap a few pics of the development.

Thanks for the nice comments :tiphat:

Haven't been able to show you much root porn, but since I've been talking so much about using a bio filter, I think you deserve to see my best try.

First two pics are from my cell phone - hence the bad quality - but since it is waterproof...
They show why 2" pots with well developed roots cant be lifted out of the tray for porn use :D

The pots only works once in my case. Surgery is the only way to remove them after the grow :)

The best shots I could get with my ordinary cam. It was hard to get flash down there, but here are my best shots.

I'm on a mission to find the perfect bud density for my lights.
I think the level dense canopy worked better when i used HID. Using 6 bulbs, a loose canopy doesn't create shade, and allows for big bud all the way through - just a theory I'm trying out.

cheers, and thx for stopping by
