Couple of things to report...

I've taken the bag seed plant completely out and will make hash out of the entire plant. I've saved a couple of small buds for my buddy who wanted to smoke some. She smells like grassy, fruity, coffee.

Grapefruit has gone through the 6-hour Final Phase flush and is now drinking straight water for the remainder of the cycle. Should be just about 3 or 4 days.

She's also getting 48 hours of dark prior to harvest. In my extensive research those who say 'do not do this' cannot provide substantial evidence, empirical or anecdotal, to the contrary. Those who have tried it say their either saw no difference, or experienced faster maturation, more resin, slight weight gain, and other benefits. The way I see it, there is no harm and only potential benefits to gain.

Observation...
Grapefruit is either NOT an 8 week strain or having to use the 150 watt during a critical time set the plant back. I'm still on the fence as to which it is. I have two packets of FMS Grapefruit and I'll definitely run this strain again and will have a more definitive report later.

This spicy pheno taxed the crap out of my carbon filter. I'm not sure which was responsible, 1) the strain, 2) AN Overdrive 3) aging carbon filter. Could be a combination of all three but let's just say that after discontinuing Overdrive, she doesn't smell as bad.

Still very frosty hobby even just using a 150watter, I'm impressed.. look forward to a smoke report on that grapefruit when you get to that point! - is she from female seed company? BTW Don't listen to the breeder recommended flower times unless your conditions are damn near perfect, from my experience its more like 1-2 weeks ONTOP of that # in most cases..

I would also think about humidity being the possible culprit on why your carbon filter maxed out, constant high humidity hampers it's effectiveness and shortens the carbons lifespan.. not sure what your levels where thru flower tho, and usually it's never a good idea to reuse it for more than 2 cycles, I toss mine after a year max w/ 1 wash inbetween.. better safe then sorry IMO.

As far as the 48hrs dark before harvest.. I have never personally tried it, I have done like approx. 24hrs out of laziness but I just more believed I only delayed cutting it down w/o any noticeable difference lol.. might be strain dependent also. Worth a try tho, report back any differences you notice. Might give it a shot when I'm at that point w/ my current grow(still a good 2 months to go.. FML).

Thanks DeoXy! Yes, she is from Female Seeds (femaleseeds.nl). I think it's time to replace the filter. It's been in use for over a year and I didn't know grapefruit was a stinky strain.

NARRATIVE
This particular report is on the spicy phenotype of Grapefruit by Female Seeds. Grapefruit has fantastic bag appeal and very sticky buds. Grinding is not recommended as this will most likely only gum up your grinder. Squeezing the buds produces a very bright grapefruit/citrus scent like someone is peeling a grapefruit.

Upon first inhale, this grapefruit is very peppery and spicy, a bit of grapefruit and citrus in the nose. The smoke is very sweet and lingers on the tongue of sweet, ripe fruit. The flavors mature very nicely with a longer cure and the grapefruit smell really begins to come out. This is one of the most pleasurable tasting smokes I have ever had - very sweet and has you coming back for more.

The high is mostly in the head and doesn’t make its way past the shoulders. It’s uplifting and motivating, but may cause a little anxiety, and will make you very social. It can be slightly visual and psychedelic as space seems to warp. Smoking too much will definitely make you feel very relaxed and even a little sleepy. Munchies were there but not overly so. A great wake and bake, party starter, get up and go kinda smoke great for daytime and times where you want to be creative. Mild mental floss.

GROW NOTES
Overall, some of the finest weed I’ve grown and smoked though I would hope to encounter the other phenotypes that don’t have the spicy/hashy taste. IMO, not a mother-candidate although she grew very easily in SCROG with little attention. Growing from seed is a bit tricky because she stretches like hell in weeks 3 and 4 of flower and this one went 11 weeks (supposed 8 week strain). 12/12 from seed is advisable but you will lose some yield. This particular pheno was a light feeder.

The bubble hash is very racy and will get your heart pumping; even a bit speedy. 73 micron was the largest yielder.

Yield: 2 ounces dry per plant, 250 watt MH/HPS, 3 week veg.

those are some respectable result buddy, i also grow with 250w and yo i almost give 3 week veg. but never arrive to 2 Oz's a plant ,some time with good yield strain arrive to 1,5 Oz's..but i no many factor increment the yield like the size of pot, the grower , setup etc..you do veri nice job!!!
