So i'm preparing my 18'x8' room. I'm planning on running 240v 4x600w bare bulbs in the flower room and 2x 4' T5s for veg.

a 4'x8' space will be panda filmed off within the room to be used for vegging.

Ok so heres my parts list:
-Mitsubishi mini split Mr. Slim 9,000 BTU 26 SEER AC (inverter compressor)
-2 x lumatek dual 600w ballasts
-4 cheap reflectors
-possibly hortilux hps bulbs
-20lb CO2 tank with regulator
-Vortex/carbon filter
-timers
-3 wall fans
-AN nutes
-10'x100' panda film
-hangers
-grow bags/saucers
-misc garden accessories

My electrician is putting in a 30amp outlet for the lights a 15amp outlet for the ac unit and a 20 for everything else.

Does anyone have any tips to really seal off the space? Will taping every seam and zippered pandafilm doors work out?

Am I going to be ok without a dehumidifier?

I was thinking 4-5 plants per light. . .

My guess is your dark cycle will need a dehuey. Mr slim will handle it when there's heat, but once that 2400 goes dark and slim takes a break RH will skyrocket.

by my math you need a 12000 btu at the smallest. imo you need 12800 btu for just the lights and sq ft of the space not calculating for the duey and any other equipment in the room. a 12000 would be under rated but should keep up fine.

^^ what he said. you need at least a twelve k btu ac. id get a sixteen k btu, with a 70 pint dehuey. invest now, and win later.

ok i'm going to go with a 14k. Its even about $75 cheaper than the 9k I picked. You guys are right why not just pick up the 70 pint. Does anyone here use/recommend a certain climate controller?

My little advise here, even if you go bare light don't buy cheap hood(cheap hood don't spread the light evenly as a good one and have hot spot.IN that bizz!!
if you buy price, you will often buy twice!

i use a sentinel chhc1 works well and if you shop around you can get it for a good price i think i found mine for 300 and something some sites were charging over 700 ill see if i can find the site i ordered mine from if ya need help finding it for a good price. best of luck bro

^^ yea the sentinel works great. and speaking of hoods. dont get cheap ones, buy some large adjusta wings. Theyre the shit in sealed rooms.

I'll look into the sentinel. Praisehim I'm glad you mentioned the adjust-a-wings, I saw them in the store and thought it was just a gimmick but you can vouch for them?

If you are going sealed room for sure run the adjust a wings. The OCHOs and Raptors are sealed so you can duct them and cool them. That glass that seals them restricts 10%-15% of the lumens from the bulb. That is 10%-15% of finished product. You do the math (4) 600w x 10%-15% extra vs. the extra money you are going to pay for running a bit larger AC.

For BTU calcs I like to use 6000 btu per 1k and 3600 btu per 600. That comes out to 6 btu per watt this also calculates in dehumid and ballast if they are in the room. Total of 14,400 BTU I would go with a 18,000 BTU can never have to much cooling.

How are things going? Would like to see some pics

ok so parts are purchased and Ace of Spades seedlings are under the 8light t5. The flower room is about 10x8ft. Heres what I'm running:
Mitsubishi mini split Mr. Slim 14,000 BTU 23 SEER AC (inverter compressor)
-2 x lumatek dual 600w ballasts
-4 radiant 6 hoods ( I'll have these bare bulbin it)
-lumitek digital hps bulbs
-20lb CO2 tank with sentinel regulator
- Sentinel CHHC-4 controller
-240v wall timers
-H&G Nutes

A/C is going in tomorrow and i'll fully seal off the room after that. I'll post some pics within a week of the setup.
