More of an accurate assessment of the political climate and elections in the USA for the last BUNCH of years... Decades, even... Well over a half-century, with the exception of Jimmy Carter.

2024. The year democracy got put on life support 😜
I think it's been on life support for a long time. But the quality of candidates funded by the deep pockets and national political organizations, specifically those candidates who pose -no- real threat to the real powers/oligarchy/elitists' status quo in the Country, thus guaranteeing no serious change for the good for the commoners, has sunken so low, year after year, to the point we have folks running who are beyond questionable in SOOOO many ways... People who wouldn't be welcome to eat at my table ever.

This year's election is like the movie where the characters prop up their dead buddy in the convertible and drive him around town, pretending he's alive. And even the stiff in that show has more independent thought, integrity, and character than our 2 primary candidates this coming election.

But the partisans are largely -certain- they have good folks running, thus demonstrating a serious amount of the problem with partisanism... Blindered voluntary forfeiture of one's own intellect and problem-solving skills, in exchange for a team jersey.

But hey, at some level, most of us need to feel like we belong to something... even if it's a remedial group of pretend statesmen with serious personality disorders.

The outcome of which constitutes a really good reason to use potent exotic drugs... at least at my home...

I got to say this court case just proves how broken our justice system is in America. 34 felony charges!! For what? He had his ex lawyer give a pornstar $130,000, falsifying business records, allegedly. 1 or 2 felony charges, maybe, I still haven't seen proof of any crime. No way in hell could it be possible for 34 felony offenses.

The best part is there is absolutely no victim in the alleged crimes whatsoever.

Thanks for confessing that you just don't get it.

I don't, how are you guilty of 34 felonies for giving 1 person money? Explain it to me like I'm a retard.

The way I see it, if the state has something against you personally, they can and will charge you with every crime possible, just for the chance a jury will convict you of 1 felony. Basically if you can't afford a great lawyer, they will lock you up and throw away the key. Julian Assange... Edward Snowden.... Donald Trump!!

Well, the way you see it is not the way it is. It's been explained thousands of times, so don't expect me to bring clarity for you.

If someone commits a crime to deceive you into voting for them and then let's the cat out of the bag after you got sucked it because it's too late to change your vote, Then it is your problem because you got conned. You can't see it and / or you don't care - that's your problem. Enough people do care and would have voted differently had they known. The details of how, when and why, just make him more of a slime bag.

How many times did you hear "Hillary's emails" repeated over and over and over and that was all bulshit. Meanwhile, here's scumbag with his drawers down around his ankles and a skankey porn chick.

If your three actions trip 34 federal 'wires', then you're eligible for those 34 charges.

I'm surprised that as a cannabis consumer or grower, you didn't notice that's how the laws have worked in this Country for a long time. Right or wrong, that's how they work.

Let's say you speed at an outrageous pace through a school zone (and here we're talking local or state, not federal), you can be charged with the speeding itself, if over the 20mph-in-excess of the limit in effect in many places (a jailable offense in many places, by the way, depending upon the discretion of the officer) , then you can be charged with that too, and if they wish and can justify it, possibly reckless endangerment. Probably more too, assuming maybe there's other issues involved, or paraphernalia in the car, an open container, you have a revoked license, etc. If you lie to the cop during the stop, there's potentially a felony in that, too.

(*By the way, my amazing criminal justice professor from back in the early 1980s just died, and I was touched by how many people recognized him in written comments online for the unique firebrand of a guy he was...).

But I'll repeat for you what an attorney told me 26 years ago when my State illegally and informally (but effectively) blacklisted me from my profession under dubious circumstances in what was clearly a vindictive move by the then-State Assistant AG. "The laws have never been about morality, right, wrong, or any other often subjective perspectives or issues. They are simply about the law as it is written."

Frown upon those realities all you want, but they are, indeed, realities... even when they fall upon people you happen to like... or not.

Interesting.... It's Okay to be gay with multiple partners, it's okay to cut your genitals off and be given an axe wound by a doctor. It's okay to do that to kids.

Oh, but you have a problem with a guy for fucking a whore?? Why is it any of your business? What does that have to do with policy? We heard all about Stormy Danielle's regardless of the hush money. Are you telling me you accidentally voted for Trump?? Lol, Hillary is still married to guy who cheated on her many times....

Man!!! You missed the entire boat on that one, Capt.. The charges have nothing to technically do with boinking a whore. They have to do with -campaign finance fraud-, which -is- a serious crime. And yes, others have been charged and convicted under that somewhat broadly encompassing law in the past.

Despite how much Trump wants you to believe he's been singled out, do a search for candidates or incumbents who've been convicted for campaign finance fraud. (*You'll find it's not as unique as the Orange Nuisance wants you to believe it is).

However, most of them had the common sense not to publicly threaten or intimidate their prosecutors, the judge, or jurors. I mean, unless he's planning to use judicial bias as grounds for a later appeal, which isn't apt to work, how do you spell 'idiot'?

Well what I really think, is the deep state hates him. I bet they gave him several choices on plans against North Korea and he said " fuck you, we're going to do it my way, I'm going to fly to North Korea and have a talk with Kim". Probably same thing with Putin and some of the Arabs.

As we seen he stopped Obama's drone strikes ment to destabilize the Middle East and Africa. He stopped funding ISIS to attack nations, the Obama administration had a problem with. Now that Biden is back, drone strikes are back, back to killing hundreds of thousands of people around the world.

Trump pissed off some important people by not continuing Obama's war policies.

On the upside it only takes 1 juror to say "not guilty."

Deep State or not (which from the poli sci profs I had, some of whom worked Capitol Hill previously to teaching, is something entirely different than what the meaning has been turned into by the paranoid conspiracy theory industry, btw) he broke umpteen laws, and he might be held accountable, though this Country hasn't been keen on jailing oligarchs or their hand-puppets.

I think you failed to catch onto the fact that Trump routinely tells people what they want to hear, whether they know it or not, and often has no intention of making good on what he says unless it benefits him personally. He's a conman and a grifter. Period.

If you'll recall during the train stop in Florida in ~2016 on the campaign trail (and yes, it was recorded), an RNC handler took him aside on the train, privately, having become concerned about some of the bullshit Trump was spouting, and Trump told him, "I was just telling them what they wanted to hear." essentially telling the guy that he had no real plans to make good on his statements.

He was either lying to the crowd, the handler, or both.

Don't back dishonest stuffed shirts and puppets. D.C.'s already filled to the brim with the scumbags. They're a dime a dozen. We don't need any more of them.

Deep state, Military Industrial Complex, same difference. Absolutely not a conspiracy theory, it's a fact.

Nope, the Poli Sci profs I had who were willing to spend any time on it at all, dealt with the Deep State as appointees from one administration or another who lived on through the next administration, carrying whatever dedication to ideology they had from when they were first appointed, sometimes undermining the intentions or purpose of the next administration, and somewhat oblivious or in disregard to the pendulum swinging where the less than thoughtful voters spend life in a going-nowhere-fast forgetful mental ping pong game of moving from one dead-end party choice to the next, thinking along the lines (if thought occurs at all) that, "Well, if the spinach soup made me sick last time, I guess I can try the waffles." Then when the waffles make them sick, they respond with, "Well, I guess I can try the spinach soup."

In other words, people you absolutely don't want involved in teaching your children or doing anything else important. But I digress. But truly kind of sad and humorous, simultaneously, to watch from a distance.

But the 'Deep State' was a reference to those within departments who are appointed, who live on beyond the person's tenure who appointed them. Nothing more. No Twilight Zone, Rod Serling stuff.

Does the MIC have power? Yep, right along with the State Dept. NSA, and CIA. All of the alphabet soup agencies that defile our purpose and have undermined the idealism and real dreams of the average voters for eons.

Yep, their leverage stands in the ingrained brainwashed allegiance to a 'sacred military' (never mind they've been used as mere quasi-mercenaries for the Oligarchy and State Dept for well over a half century now), similar to the undeserved/unearned holiness and esteem we are conditioned to apply to cops, priests, etc., and others who have fucked us, both literally and figuratively, with the hammer being what I described the other day; allegations during campaigns that a candidate is "soft on the defense of the Country!!", and the way 'they' (the all-powerful ubiquitous 'they') make that potent is to keep the populace afraid of this boogieman or that boogieman.

Yes, the MIC has power, but that is not the same reference as the 'Deep State.'

As soon as you have one or another entity in a society that is above reproach, criticism, public scrutiny, or consequences for their actions, you have lost any democratic function or equal protection under the laws. Period. And we've been teetering on the edge of that abyss for a LONG fucking time now.

This Country's future is toast. The voters and ideologues, the terminally optimistic and blinded by faux patriotism, simply haven't properly digested the reality yet.

We're fucked like a skid row hooker. Money runs the game, has for a LONG time (over a century, really, and most of us don't have THAT kind of money or influence. We get to vote for whoever the Oligarchy permits to be functionally on the ballot. Nothing more and nothing less...

Light a doobie, and stop voting for elitists, Oligarchs, liars, those without a conscience, and stuffed shirt, gutless, soulless, sold-out cowards. Stop voting for the lesser of 2 evils, or they'll keep running the lowest common denominator evil bastards.

Of course that meaning is quite true but the deep state that lives off that is old money (inviting new into the club) and Trump is up to his puppet strings, singing for them. He hears the dweebs piping about the deep state (crap end of it) and gives them their toast buttered how they like. (more votes he thinks; more donations; more poorly educated)

Those who have bought into the idea that 45 was 'at odds with' deep state,
may wish to give that some reconsideration.
