Hey everyone, there´s no big secret behind that 60 cm Mossys JEM cola. Last season i got a hold on a few beans with JEM genes form a good m8 and put some of them in my outdoor garden. There´s a few tips from Jamaica involved but nothing, absolutely nothing advanced. Totally organic, outdoor, soil from the beginning to the end, you can almost tell that from the width of the cola. I had about 20 JEMs last season, harvested around 40 grams each of the green phenos and 30 grams on the purple phenos.

Have in mind that i live in a very "cold" part of the world.

Here´s an example of a standard 30-35g purple pheno i had ast season, about 30 cm (top cola) or so and organic, outdoor, soil:

indeed. that's why i'm donating 3/4 of my beans to seedbay. very beautiful to the eye but i need some more powerful stuff.

i found that low ryder 2 has been the most potent auto i've grown so far. although i have some auto ak. we shall see.

mossy. the two females dc/alf that i was actually able to grow out were very potent but they stayed relatively small and low ryder edged it out a bit.

I feel what you are saying my friend, i am hoping my jem will QUIT getting bigger tho!
she is just now on day 27 and is 30cm tall! and i am quickly running out of space in my little cab! But at the same time i am happy with my results. Next run i will just have to do some LST earlier

I was lucky enough to get a digital microscope last year for christmas...
and I spent DAYS..just looking at trics on all the dried girls.

I Thought that I might be able to define crosses by trics..
But I was wrong..
what you can see by eye is Good..
but once you see them through a microscope..you really get to appreciate that there are Millions of them on every leaf..
it is like walking through Forests of them...alien landscapes..
Fascinating...and it was only on 4 x magnification.

I'll tell you my pet theory..But..I am going to whisper it to you because I have been shot down on this before..
IMO...AF's change stages on root pooling.
Once they colonise the space that they are in..like a pot..and get to the root pooling stage they will begin to flower.
That is why they work so well in hydro..more root space..
and you putting them into the garden..again..unrestricted root space
does the same.
Now I'm gonna mope all season fretting for a garden again...

Wait until you get the White with the ginger pistills..

I've said the Whites were the strongest all the way along..but I'm afraid everyone was colour blinded.

Fortunately..adding a pure Afghan x LR AND WR x LR..
taking a Tric change and opting for a frame change..
resulted in all Colour phenos carrying the same Clout as the Whites..
It is called ALF#3...

I have been saying for ages..try ALF#3..it is JEM with bells on..
More of what you want her for..
MY improvements..
but all anyone wanted was JEM.

(And..you don't have to take my word on it..
I've persuaded some of the guys who have grown JEM to test the ALF#3 out..in comparrison...
Soooooo..we will see if I am right..again....
Birds are in the air ATM..but as soon as they touch down..we will start to see some in the threads.)

I didn't get a kick off AK-47..but that could be down to me..
I just wasn't really getting sati's...and lowrdr has just grown AK-47 version 2 and says she is Class.

I've got about 60% germ rate on the pot now..
I put 50 to germ and 30 are growing.
Being small was probably connected to the Lax germ problem.
They are Taller than JEM.
I'll watch for the LR edge..and shift it..they were only f1..so there is a way to go.

Iron Lungs..35 cm's..14 inches..is her usual finish height in my grows.
she is just trying to use every inch of your grow cabinet..
I think she appreciates how you are treating her..and she is trying to pay you back..

On the photo are 3 cut down girls.
1 ordinary "standard" AF
Ounce yielder on good conditions...Good Girl.
The other two are DC/ALF.

As phenos go..
they came up with the same grown conditions..
roughly the same height..
same grow time..
same Grower..
there is no great visible difference is there..?

EXCEPT on the scales..

the one on the left is the "standard"..

the one in the middle Almost doubled her dry weight/yield..
and the one on the right was Over double the dry weight/yield

Double Density..for no more effort....

THAT is what I was chasing out in the DC/ALF..
BEFORE..I got side tracked by the Black..

I'll get back to it shortly..and I'll bear this in mind when I'm chasing..

and low ryder edged it out a bit.

These are the germ tests..Alf#3..right..and Bad Betty..left..
germ test only..so don't fret about the males.
ALF#3 Stinks..so needs indoor with good odour control.

Bad Betty showing definite colour..male/fem..plant looks a red but the bud looks more to the purple.

sorry STB..I was thinking about the small bit.
Top left pot of the same ones are giving me stumpies..as you can see..compared to the other crosses germed the same date.
What ever screwed the germ rates has knocked the vigour too.

I've transplanted straight after sex..and normally that is spot on..they will continue their normal growth pattern and flowering..
but..
if they have been sexed for a while..sometimes they just sit in their original "pot size"..and don't colonise the extra pot space at all.
soooo...
it is a judgement call.

My m8 bpb has just tasted the bud and says it is one of the best he has tasted..so I was just wondering if it would make a good AF project.

Jack Herer is one of my all time favs now. A buddy grew some out, gave me some clones, and I've grew those out too. Not a huge yielder and takes time but man is the payoff worth it. The effects are great and the flavor & smell are wonderful.

So ahh, YES an AF Jack Herer would be incredible!
