Well, I was starting from scratch after a little break and a move that cost me my long time compost reserve/process. I went with some bagged for a base. Just thought I'd share a couple pics of what I think is a healthy bed grow. These are JohnnyBlaze (f) x SweetBlue @ day 7 12/12
This bed is in a freezer that I modified so temp is under full control and CO2 is provided. 315w Philips CDM bulb
The bed mix is as follows:
1c.f. Miller's Mix for beds - miller's grow fiber (?), peat, forest humus, coco, compost, some perilite and their A=Z mix which is just azomite + EWC.
1c.f. Miller's Compost - Composted manure, alfalfa, grain by-product (whatever that is), composted forest humus, some other stuff I can't remmember
To these I added
approx 12lbs of Zeolite clinoptilotite (kitty litter) - not clinoptilolite
composted horse manure (little composted straw to) - about 6-8 gallons
4 gallons of peat/dairy fiber 50/50 found a 1/2 bag in back yard
4 cups Azomite
2 cups of really old blood meal
1.5lbs kelp meal
4 lbs of really old espoma flower tone (on clearance $2.00)
2lbs of a local product that has alfalfa meal, cocoa meal, soft rock phosphate, sul-p-m, feather meal, mono? clay and some special fermented edible mushroom extract LOL!
couple small handfulhttps://www.icmag.com/ic/picture.php?albumid=41995&pictureid=1010606 ls of dolomite
1 cup alfalfa meal
Basically, whatever I had laying around or was on winter clearance and cheap. Let it sit for a month watered with molasses and mixed every day or two.
They have had a couple teas the last had a little (2tbl in 3gal) of high P bird guano, alfalfa, compost, molasses and kelp meal.
