Time for the overdue update! The canopy has filled out nicely. I leveled the canopy almost a week ago with some vigorous topping. I have also given her a good leg shaving, a slight deleafing, and the first full resivoir change since she started.
Here's my way of mixing nutes. I start with an almost full 5 gallon bucket 65°f ish of tap water (city water at 100ppm on 700 scale). The water is stirred and it gets 3 small scoops maxibloom, stirring again and add 20ml bud ignitor by advanced nutrients, stirring again and add 25 ml of cal-mag plus by botanicare, stirring again and add 10ml of ph down, stir once more and add 2.5 ml of orca. The reason for all the stirring is to get the damn maxibloom to dissolve into the solution. After all this my ph is at 5.7, ppm is at 900 on the 500 scale, res temp is at 65°F. Total resivoir volume is roughly 15 gallons and my roots are a nice creamy white. Since I didn't bubble the tap water to flash off the city chlorine, the ph is gonna climb overnight. Tomorrow I will bring the ph back down to 5.7 to 5.6 and add more orca. The bottle says to adjust ph and then add orca. I do and they keep my roots super healthy. After this ph will very slowly drift up or stay reasonably stable. Res temps tend to stay around 67°F to 71°F.
Above the waterline, the enviroment is sunny and usually 77°F to 82°F. RH is usually around 15% to 35%. Plant height is at 24" to 26". I've currently got 30 inches between canopy and the bottom of the reflector. Speaking of which the light is running at 600w currently. I will bump it up to 750w over a few days and give my baby time to adjust to the higher light output. She might stress a little at first but she will learn to love it.
