Sources for Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers to replace condensing coil?

The only CLS company I know selling shell and tube heat exchangers is BHOgart.. But these things have been around forever, I was wondering where I could find a similar design as the Bhoghart shell?

The Bhoghart heat exchanger

Anyone know where something similar could be purchased?

Bhogart should sponsor ICMAG. That's a very not so subtle hint.

As a kid I had my hands all over that style heat exchanger, they replaced the propane burners fumigation trucks used to use to vaporize methyl bromide. It was mounted atop the door step, and connected up to the engine coolant. Thanks for the memory!

What type of heat exchanger are you currently using now? I doubt they would ever sponsor ICMAG, they are the most superior CLS manufacturer in the industry and probably the absolute worst in terms of promotion and advertising skills.

I don't see much of what I'm looking for on that website, should I shoot them over an email and ask? Can you get a family discount :D

They're certainly not exclusive to cannabis processing but Ironfist Extractors makes some pretty nice ones.
And I've spoken with Carl on the phone a few times, and he seems to have good experience with heat exchangers and shell design, and all the math involved. 2-3 week lead time on any build, and that was alost 2 years ago

All I was saying is that style in any size you want has been around at reasonable prices for several decades at least, getting it in stainless steel...

The owner of the fumigation company my brother used to work for thought up the idea of using the heat exchangers, I was working around the shop during summer vacation, and got to participate in installing several of the first ones. Shagging fittings at the hardware store for the project was my introduction to creative plumbing. My thanks to John Edwards Sr. and Jr. for the opportunity.

That's where John Edwards Jr. got the idea for his fumigation truck's setups... he had a 30' boat that had the same marine heat exchanger to keep salt water separate from the engine coolant, but those back then were plain steel, sorry. Way off beat memory.............. Kenny Edward's still alive afaik, South Park.

Pressure ratings

Pressure ratings

Just be sure to find one that can handle the pressures required. That one, for example, probably can't take higher pressure CO2 in the shell than the lower internal pressures. And looking at its minimum temperature rating, it might have too thin of walls for serious cooling, as the steel gets more brittle.

How do you decided which pressure ratings are needed, and what the pressure ratings are of the equipment?
