If you see there's too much, excessive moisture you need to wipe it, dry them with a towel, paper towels or whatever as required, maybe let them air-dry for just a couple hours before re-vaccing them again to put them to ferment.

Vacuum should prevent mould from happening in any case, but excessive moisture (i.e. to the point of seeing droplets inside the vacuum bag beginning the fermentation phase) can interfere with the kind of fermentation we seek.

I think you'd better lower the moisture to the point the corn husk is still damp, but not dripping, specially knowing that these are sativish more delicate foxtails buds. Tangwena has the last word though!

Tip: don't reuse vacuum bags... some lose the seal if you reuse them, and you have gold in your hands!

Thanks for the advice man! I dried off the cobs on a paper towel and got them sealed up.

Kas from the picture your on track it looks great just get rid of the sweated moisture its just the water leaving the buds once its out you dont need it.
You dont have to panic just open the bags dry the maize skin of excess moisture and reseal under vacuum the magic has started.

Thanks Tang, all set now! Wiped em' off a bit with the paper towels and resealed.

Sorry for the flash photo guys... was having a beer and listening to music while I trimmed this gal up for the jars. House was dark as it was around 04:00 when I got home from work. Here's a cola from the "fat pheno" purple haze x honduras.

OMG... :bigeye:

What's your extraction/circ/intraction setup and tent size? (if you already posted it a link or hint is more than enough).

You have it wonderfully nailed! Those gals thrived like mad!

Hey brutha! Thank you for all the kind words!

My setup is actually really really simple.

Tent: 120x120x200cm
Light: 600w HPS w/ a cheap ass $18 bulb
Intake: Passive (Negative Pressure)
Exhaust: 440 CFM (overkill) inline fan dialed back with a ghetto wired dimmer switch to approximately 70% power that pushes through a 6" scrubber which then exits outside
Circ: Cheap $10 fan that blows around the canopy. :D

I've got a bunch of extra stuff laying around my place from when I used to have more grow space. I've thought about putting in a 1000w HPS in there if I could keep the temps under control. As it is with passive intake & strong exhaust the temps are a nice 25c in summer. I wouldn't really want to push my luck. It's simple but it works and Dubi's strains do the rest of the work.

Seriously, props to all the growers that so elegantly showcase these genetics like OP and especially to Dubi and Ace for taking the risk to specialise in exotic varieties like these rather than making the next Super Purple Double Sour Cookies OG Dream copy cat strain.

I've been watching this grow since before I remembered I had an account, and I gotta say its been a lot of fun seeing it continually become more and more impressive. Kaskadian, I can't wait to see that smoke report. Dubi, I can't wait to fully appreciate some of your group's hard work and expertise.

Welcome Gumby's Ganja :)

Thanks for your kind words! So glad Kaskadian's Purple Haze x Honduras grow motivated you to log in and participate in these forums.

Congrats Kaskadian for such amazing grow and harvest. :tiphat:

I have enjoyed a lot with the progresses of every page and with the excellent vibes surrounding this grow diary. Honestly, your results exceeded my expectations, and I second every word from the other fine growers in this thread appreciating your gardening skills on growing such extreme tropical sativa genetics indoors. Not many indoor growers have the skills and patience to make happen a sativa indoor grow of this kind.... hope it motivates more growers to follow your example and give a try to real sativas, indoors or outdoors.

Your harvested flowers look very Honduras dominant (very hairy, and with a strong constrast between the reddish pistils and the more yellowish/brownish flower background), but even with bigger yields.
Hope there are also fine Purple Haze traits in your plants that my eyesight cannot appreciate from here. I probably would let the fat pheno 2 weeks more before chop her but i understand you had to cut her to make space to the new cycle.

I have no words to thank you enough for testing this new hybrid, for documenting so well the progresses and for your attitude and kindness, your presence is greatly appreciated here Kaskadian! :huggg:

Really curious to know your opinion about the cobbed flowers vs the uncobbed. A smoke report after a proper curing would give a grand finale to this amazing diary.

Thanks again!

It could be the 3 month old cob I'm just toking/testing, but I see already and adjective: Epic  gonna be epic!

You have almost the exact tent than I, but there ends the similarities.

I have a 200CFM (overkill too) extractor which pulls straight (no conduit) from a 400CFM rated scrubber, which I recently set to 70%. It sucks the walls in badly, I also use negative pressure for intraction, all wall passages tied down and airflow windows shut.

hmmm… how do yo have set the openings for intraction?

I'm going to set the oscillating fans to low speed for starters as per Dubi suggestion. Thinking about it, I ended up with a fairly well aireated canopy with lots of room to the ceiling. I may have been overkill on circulating air fearing mold which looked into perspective is the last of the chances given the free space, while it was the opposite: I've detected red mites in very early phase.

I think I remember when I had a tent dialed, once you opened it, it actually was like a breath of fresh air + all the scents. Not achieving this on this one...

Hi Dubi!

Thank you for your overly generous and kind words my friend. This grow was an absolute pleasure and I can honestly say it's one of the most exciting and fun grows I've done in several years. I can't wait to get more big sativas going. I've got lots of your strains to grow soon and some other big sativa crosses a friend was generous enough to allow me to test. I do wish I had let the "fat pheno" go a bit longer as well, but I the trichomes were mostly cloudy and the first couple amber trichomes were coming in. Based on the pistils I think she would have benefited greatly from an additional two weeks as well. I was worried about overdoing these sativas as I want the clear headed happy effects. I still have cuttings from each plant vegging away happily. I will have to revisit these strains after a sample of the cured flower and make some decisions from there.

I really do believe anyone who is patient can grow these sativas. I'm not trying to simplify the difficulties that come with growing landrace/pure sativa genetics, but it's really over-caring for them and impatience that cause 99% of the problems with these strains. Once you have the nutrients dialed in just LEAVE THEM ALONE and let them work their magic. I found this strain to be very easy to grow -- the hardest part of the grow was dealing with the stretch. Hell guys... if I can do this indoors in a small tent with a very basic setup anyone else can too and I encourage anyone interested in growing sativas to just take the leap and jump right in. Just make sure you get these gals flowering either from the start or very soon after germination.

I will need to do a proper test on all three phenos but I think there is some haze magic going on in here. I smoked a small sample bowl of the mango pheno with very little cure and it was energetic, euphoric/happy, thoughtful, felt like electricity buzzing through my skull. I just wanted to talk, think, read/write... a very social smoke even in small quantities. Nothing going on in the body with the exception of small tingles of "electricity" that would occasionally go from my head into my limbs and leave as soon as they came. Effect was long lasting (my tolerance is also low) 3+ hours just from the flower. I believe there is some haze in there because towards the end of the bowl the effect became somewhat dreamy -- still no body effect and still clearheaded but it became more introspective/dream-like and the first thought that came to mind was this felt similar to when a low dose of mushrooms was first "coming on". Very very strange and enjoyable. This isn't a smoke report guys... I'll post up pictures and details when this stuff has had a proper cure.

One very important thing I want to note as well -- the mango pheno might be the best smelling/tasting bud I've ever grown even without a proper cure. The nose is pure tropical fruit, citrus, and maybe small hints of floral. It doesn't smell like cannabis at all! The mango pheno will be kept based on my overwhelmingly positive experiences with her already; I don't smoke much oil but I might have a friend in the extraction business blast a small batch of this stuff into BHO just for the beautiful terpenes in this stuff! It smells/tastes similar to a mango hi-chew if any of you folks have ever had that candy... The smell is much stronger than the candy, and the taste even has the mild sweetness that comes with fresh chopped mango.

Dubi, I will definitely do a full smoke report on all three strains after they've cured for a couple months. I will also do a comparison with the cobs vs. flower as well.

Guys until this stuff is cured up I don't really have much else to say. I don't want to keep shit posting in here when there are so many important/exciting grows to be looking at from the rest of our friends here. I am happy to reply to people and answer any questions that come up but until the smoke report this thread is basically wrapped up.

I wanted to thank you all again for all the love, support, and interest shown throughout this grow. Big thank you to Dubi & the Ace Crew for producing this amazing cross. No details yet, but by the end of summer we will be back into the world of big sativas. Let's just say we'll be taking a trip to Africa together.

Hi brother,

I have only 1 air window open at the bottom. My tent walls are also sucked in a bit due to the exhaust. The plants seem happy with it though. I think you have an excellent setup and your results show it's working very well!

The negative pressure should help combat the mites a bit, but I'd also be spraying the plants with water (under the leaves and all over) to help get the evil borg out of there. Fight them now before it's a massive problem my friend. Water usually does the trick if you catch them early enough.

Can't wait to see more of your stellar show mate. :tiphat:

Thanks Kaskadian!

Checked today and max temp lowered to 25C after setting extraction yesterday to 70%, good... Both circulation fans set on minimum now.

It also dawned on me, I didn't have any opened window, so I opened one. See you have one of them opened, that's reassuring...

I detected mites on the nearby krystallica cut this morning, so both Nep Jam #1 and her got the chop... will be watching closely the rest of girls!

Kick that borg's ass early and you'll be fine brudduh. 25c is a good range; you'll do excellent as always.

Now I'm just curing my flower, and my cobs.

:bigeye: looking killer! Purple Haze x Honduras Golden cobs... :yummy: :yummy:

Wish you all lived closer... I'd gladly share some cob. If I spoke Spanish I'd be moving my ass to Spain in a heartbeat. Long ago when my family immigrated from Germany they gave up citizenship so I couldn't even get in based on EU freedom. :frown:

It's always a surprise looking in on your thread K..! Quite a beautiful harvest brotherman..

Mango Cobb, you crushed it..!!

Thank you my friend! Wouldn't have been possible without the help of the folks around here. Lots of great growers and great advice given along the way. I consider myself lucky to have such friends available for advice.

Guys, I've reposted this in Tang's thread on cob curing but I'm posting it here as well. Not doing this to be a filthy post whore, but I'm trying to keep all PH x H related stuff in here as well.

Cobs got a 24 hour sweat, 7 days fermenting in the vac bags, and now they're off to dry. After they're dry to the touch they're back in the vac bags and off to cure. Based on Tang's advice, I'll be letting one of these cobs dry out a bit extra to sample cobs with a different result.

If you guys are interested in cob curing Tangwena has a massive thread PACKED full of information. Highly recommended reading even if you're not planning on making cobs. It's a really interesting technique and Tangwena put a lot of effort into this thread. Repuk also tossed in some really excellent picture guides for this process as well. Here's the link fellas. Big thank you to Tangwena and the rest of the guys hanging around the cob curing thread answering questions and contributing information to those curious.

Thank you brudduh! You're welcome whenever you want to take a taste of Spain, English spoken here no problemo ;)

I'm cobbling my Zam tomorrow, missus just appeared with the husks after months of not being able to source them! :woohoo:

Actually read back the thread for inspiration! :tiphat:

I'm dying to grow these outdoors! Such beautiful flowers! …and smell doesn't tell...

Don't tempt me brother! I love Spain. Wish you were here today to sample some of this early cured flower with me. Needs more time but it's really a beautiful strain; feeling very happy now. Few hours until work and I'm feeling damn good. Going to float my way in today.

Early samples of some fat pheno... spicy, earthy, cedar on the exhale. First few puffs and brain starts to feel recharged, energetic/electric, happy with a big stupid smile on my face... towards the end of the bowl or end of the joint it transforms into a slightly dreamy effect. Lots of thoughts running through my head. No tiredness... really a wonderful smoke. Can't wait to see it's full potential after a real cure.

Great looking bud and very clean trimming job bro ! :)

This was a lower bud but it's definitely got me smiling today! Wish I could share with all of you guys. I love how easy these tropical sativas are to trim... 10 minutes of hand trimming off the fan leaves then just plucking the rest with my fingers.

Have a great week guys.
