liberal fascist is a contradiction. fascism is a far right ideology.

Reagan is a moron and he marked the beginning of the end of this country.

The dems and repubs are neither for limited government. And why would they? The government is their biggest source of welfare and handouts. You guys are right, the US is socialist... Just not the good kind of socialism. Reverse socialism where the middle class gives their money to the richest of the rich through taxes, corporate welfare, corporate subsidies, ect. They are the real parasitic class.

a murderous actor playing the part of a "nice guy".

how many people did he put in prison during his drug war?

while at the same time shipping cocaine into the country to finance secret wars that massacred thousands of innocent women and children in central america

No, I was right the first time and it was Reagan. He does make a pretty damn good point with it too IMO.

No, Reagan's speech writers stole and distorted Huey Long's quote, which was fairly well known long before Reagan ceased acting for Hollywood, and began acting for D..C.

Long was a real populist who faced serious condemnation for not fitting in with the mainstream pols, openly consorted with Black women (before it was socially acceptable), and hookers, gambled, etc., and sought to bring social welfare and justice to his state.

What Reagan brought to us, aside from pumped up false pride and hubris, were;

Blanket minimum mandatory sentences for drug crimes

Illegal invasions and sponsorship of terror in sovereign nations, in violation of the Treaties we were voluntary members to.

Rampant civil asset seizure and forfeiture absent convictions, again, mostly involving alleged drug crimes,

Made the medical labs a sizable fortune with mandatory urine testing policies,

and facilitated an accelerated bankrupting of our Country.

But man!! He sure could deliver a line, even if it was bullshit. He'd had plenty of experience with that in Hollywood, and apparently all it takes to achieve the highest post in this Country is the ability to smoothly rattle off some BS and sound like John Wayne in doing it.

Sound like a political hero to anyone else?

Sounds more like another con artist and ego-maniac, verging on sociopath/psychopath, with a mediocre speech writer (having to steal others quotes), who should've been tried for war crimes, not to mention what his policies did to my brothers and sisters in the War On Some Drugs over the last 38 years.

How many people did Obomber kill with Afghan heroin? Or the guns he sold to Mexican drug cartels? To also finance secret wars around the world, that also massacred thousands actually I think millions of women and children in a lot more than just Central and South America.

They both did some good and some bad, but I think Obomber takes the cake, as he started shit all over the Middle East, Africa, North America, Eastern Europe, Asia and restarted the Cold War with Russia.......

Not too mention the opioid epidemic that has killed so many Americans that the average life expectancy has dropped dramatically in our nation.

Reagan was a dick with the War On Drugs, but overall Obomber has much much more blood on his hands, hands down. :tiphat:

seems to me US presidents have been steadily getting worse, it's like each one wants to break the last ones war related records. drone strikes come to mind, each new president seems to be using them more.

For real and they all seem to campaign to be anti war. First Obama talking about pulling out of Iraq and Afghanistan then starts a few more wars. Trump basically the same thing and now we are in a few more countries.

Of course it's not just America, the Saudi's and Israeli's seem to be pushing us into these wars. Of course the Russians and Chinese are behind Iran and Syria God knows who is actually trying to do the right thing. Really seems like the Russians are trying to do the right thing, after all Obama created, armed and funded ISIS. Of course I don't trust anyone in this whole mess we started all because a few thousand Americans died on 9/11 by Saudi Arabian Nationals for the most part, according to the official story anyways.

Surely more went into 9/11, building 7 wasn't even hit.

True, but you did make it almost sound like Reagan was the worst president in recent history. Really, Clinton was even worse on drugs, first lady Hillary Clinton was all about that super predator crap and increasing prison sentences.

I honestly can't really think of a great president, maybe Kennedy, of course that was before my time. Washington was cool other than owning slaves, but that was the way the world was since damn near the beginning of mankind.

there is footage out there of Bush the second saying America must not be involved in empire building or being the police of the world, he sounds almost like Ron Paul, not 2 years later he invades Iraq on false pretenses, while Clinton who is loved by the left has a bloody legacy in ex Yugoslavia, but i grant you Obama sounded so great in his candidacy that when he ended up being involved militarily with even more countries then Bush, and upping the extra judicial drone assassinations, it was kinda disappointing to put things mildly, worse yet, here we fucking are again with Trump.

The truly troubling part of this willfully partisan, self-lubricated victimizing of the Country, and toxicity in government is that no matter how many times we've been lied to, like a child victim in a home where incestuous pedophilia is practiced, we keep sitting on the edge of our collective chairs, waiting for 'Papa' to utter more sweet sounding promises, justifications, and explanations, so the partisan supporters, wearing their team jerseys, and long ago forfeiting their own critical thought processes, can believe that "NO!! This time he really means it!!"

(*Was that a successful and technically correct run-on sentence, or what??!!)

"I'm a conservative voter, so I'd best vote for a conservative/Republican, right?" Never mind that the alleged conservative candidate has never truly been a conservative.

"I'm a liberal voter, so I'd best vote for a liberal/Democratic Party candidate, right?" Never mind that the candidate in question has never been a real liberal.

To some degree it's a choreographed and predictable outcome every two and four years.

And it's US!!! We're the ones willing to be fooled by stolen fluffy quotes, catch phrases, B-grade speech-writers, and with the "eyes (and innocence.. or naiveté) of a child," listen to the same scum-bags who've been lying to us for how long??!!

But hey, they were wearing my team's jersey, right??

No wonder advertising and packaging sells products so well in this Country! We're willing to look no further than the surface in making our choices, and buy into the false dichotomies and arguments presented to us by sociopaths with personal & party interests forefront in their minds.

With that, and the incredibly slow down-load of my windows updates over a seriously slow connection (like an actual 3-8k), I should probably go install my summer bug screen insert over the HRV intake.

And I've got to re-write my Last Will & Testament in preparation for the possible worst in upcoming surgery, and get it filed with the court. (*Walking into courts, like visiting a jail or prison, gives me the willies... damned near every time, no matter the reasons for the visit).

**I wish I had a faster connection, and could play/listen to/ view the links folks post. Maybe next year.

I was incorrect about Long's quote.

http://technoccult.net/archives/201...-come-wrapped-in-the-flag-and-waving-a-cross/

Who really said “When fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and waving a cross”?
March 3, 2010/ Klint Finley

You’ve probably heard some variation on this quote: “When fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and waving a cross,” possibly attributed to Sinclair Lewis or Huey Long. The only problem: there’s no evidence that either men said it.

But Sally Parry of the Sinclair Lewis Society provides us with two similar passages written by Lewis:

From
It Can’t Happen Here (1935): “But he saw too that in America the struggle was befogged by the fact that the worst Fascists were they who disowned the word ‘Fascism’ and preached enslavement to Capitalism under the style of Constitutional and Traditional Native American Liberty.”

From
Gideon Planish (1943): “I just wish people wouldn’t quote Lincoln or the Bible, or hang out the flag or the cross, to cover up something that belongs more to the bank-book and the three golden balls.”

Also, the author behind the site What Shii Knows has done some research and found two other possible sources:

“It is a peculiarity of the development of American fascism that at the present stage it comes forward principally in the guise of an opposition to fascism, which it accuses of being an “un-American” trend imported from abroad.” – Georgi Dimitrov, in his report delivered at the Seventh World Congress of the Communist International in 1935.

“When and if fascism comes to America it will not be labeled ‘made in Germany’; it will not be marked with a swastika; it will not even be called fascism; it will be called, of course, ‘Americanism'” – An uncredited New York Times reporter covering Halford E. Luccock in an article published September 12, 1938.

Jimmy Dore hits it out of the park for me. He makes alot of sense to my ears. Secular Talk is some good stuff too. I just cannot connect with Repub Lite establishment Dems and full on Republicans. Maybe Ron Paul just because he is against the grain like Sanders but complete opposite end of the spectrum. But Ron Paul's Libertarian everyman is his own entity grab yerself up by your bootstraps ideas are not even feasible in this day. It's not tri cornered hat times Manifest Destiny anymore. Our resources are finite...our global population is not. 7 billion and counting and nowhere else to go. Took me awhile (I was a card carrying Libertarian Party guy all through my teens and twenties) to see the flaws in all that.

If every American watched Jimmy Dore, and Secular Talk this country would be a hell of a lot more informed lol. Two of my absolute favorites.

Yeah, Jimmy Dore does seem a lot better now that he isn't on the Young Turks I can't stand Cenk and Anna way too liberal, Jimmy seems to be more in the middle. Secular Talk is alright too better than Alex Jones. Lol

Young Turks are so whinny when the speak that it turns me off even when I agree with the point they are trying to make.

Anna's got an awesome chest though, that cant be denied.
