I even spotted someone here in small town USA sporting a mask the other day. Couldn't hep but to chuckle a little. I think they were tourists from the city.

There is no point trying to control a disease that kills 2%. If you start shutting boarders, people will panic buy and run for their bunkers. Businesses can collapse as key workers decide that some time off is more important than their job. If this is important infrastructure, such as transport, you can cause a lot of damage by changing peoples role to one of survivalist. The number from China may be wrong, and maybe your government/dictatorship know this, but are happy to let us believe. Telling us they got the few people that carry it and all is well. Knowing the two week incubation period, is longer than the story is old.

Seven of the deaths were in people over 60 years old.
