Colorado "legalization" going to affect prices nationwide?

the idea of legalization always gets me thinking...

if some day weed is "legalized worldwide", i think most of the high quality weed production would be done in places like africa, south america and se asia. Truth is, indoor weed is not as good as outdoor weed grown (properly grown, not talking about cartel's production) in those places.

ps: sorry for my english

There are excellent strains from South America. Brazilian genetics are spectacular. Uruguay totally legalized it.

And depends how it's grown...indoors vs. outdoors. I'm not a fan of hydro product, but I'm sure others will argue it ranks right up there. Just my taste. Prefer soil period...indoor or al fresco.

25 years ago we'd have never fathomed medical marijuana in the USA. Each yea,r more states are seeing that cannabis can be an effective medical tool. And legalization seems to be on several ballots....times they are a changin' and for the better in most cases.

It's kind of like the line from the film, Field of Dreams. "Build it and they will come." Can be said for casinos, too. No shortage of patrons at the tables or slots.

Colorado will have a steady stream of people buying. Taking it across WYO, NM, UT will be tricky and not advised. I'm sure the increase in border searches will continue for quite some time....at least the major highways...probably the two-lane roads as well.

Strangely enough, the Colo Springs airport won't confiscate....maybe because they are not an international airport like DIA(DEN).

Best said, enjoy it in Colorado, and leave it there.

Prices will probably decrease @ dispensaries as inventory increases. Maybe not. There will still be an underground flow of goods/cash because of the price and taxes. Some don't want to stand in line or have their ID shown.

you guys fail to realize that most of these mega farms like river rock and the other big dispo's paid hundreds of thousands if not millions investing into their legal framework. they are not gonna risk it to export it all out of state, sure there will be some but the feds in CO are onto them tough, took down a bunch of joints before new years.

all this weed has to stay inside CO, sure a bunch will be moving out of state from the unregulated guys but that is nothing compared to what cali outdoor farmers/movers are already doing. 30,000 lbs is a pin drop thats like one mountain ridge of grows in some parts of NorCal...there are easily a million + lbs exported out of CA yearly, the price of CA outdoor dictates the entire US market price, not canada or colorado herb.

I've said the prices would not drop but they would actually go up due to the fucking taxes....and here we are legal herb for 100 buck for a 1/4 zip...hmmm, go figure....
From what I've heard highest price paid so far is $78 for an eight. CO will never be a big producer unless a lot of greenhouses spring up. Have spent a lot of time in the Chico hills and Cali in general. 2 different worlds regarding Cali and CO. My buddies still grow some quality herb at 7,000' with the short growing season. Not easy though.

Colorado prices vary. In Denver 1/8th sells for $20-$35 of medical weed from a dispense. Rec weed is anywhere from $40-$120 per 1/8th. MMED (medical marijuana enforcement division) has lowered the cost of a red card to $15. It is cheaper to get your card and buy from a dispense.

You make some valid points, YES. However, the overall population of Colorado vs. California....hmmmmm, a drastic difference. Grow it and 'they' will come.

True dat, Zar....yet, it does cost for medical evaluation. Some are $100 up to $400 for a Dr. consult.

Better to know what strains help alleviate symptoms and grow it yourself (that's what I discovered) and then you KNOW how it was grown. Much more fun than standing in line, IMHO. To each their own....gotta say, quite a difference between recreational and MMJ.

Very true. However friends of mine have told me the price can be as low as $40 for a consultation for a regular red card (6 plants, 2oz on person) and can be as high as $400 for a high plant count red card (75+ plants 25oz+ on person)

Greedy controling bastards

Greedy controling bastards

I hope pharma, etc doesn't take over, but think this is the plan. Believe me they have one and its F'd up. Never give them your name. Do not trust them. Why do you need a card??? And why can you only buy or grow so much. Really pisses me off and this is not victory, the skirmish was one somewhat, but the war is far from over and they want complete control as they are greedy control freaks. You can go to any liquor store and buy all you want. A damn truckload if you want and no card or name, just proof of age. I am glad of the victories, but this is far from over and will take lots of $$$ and dedicated people to fight these control freaks, which includes our government. Control liquor which kills 1,000s daily dumn f'n society and all the pills and tobacco too. Both my parents are completely brainwashed regarding marijuana and many self righteous people are still around and can be very hard to impossible to change there minds and not due to lack of facts, but they are just that stubborn. Rarely even talk to my parents because of there self righteous attitude. I do believe in God, but he made it and it saw it was good... Man always, always seems to fight the truth and wants things to be there way. Very rude awakening coming to many someday. SR

It's a damned if you do situation. I never thought it would ever become legal anywhere because of the widespread voting/politician members of the anti pot Illuminati voting it down. But, it may be a signal that the old guard is doomed for extinction and the new crew is coming into power. I think this is definitely a slap across their evil faces and that is fucking exciting to me. Those greedy bastards have almost ruined Texas with their steal the cash from anything that has cash policies there. But every kick in their fat asses is a plus in my book. They have been stomping on the Constitution and Bill of Rights with no regard to anybody except the rich bastards that order them around. Maybe this will help them fall from grace. Some of them deserve to be hung from the trees at the capital and others allow this bs to continue. guilty by association. But, Kharma comes in many forms and this may end up being one of them...I hope so. I'm sick of assholes...

Oh yes, let's not forget that reducing government and getting rid of property taxes will disembowel a big faction of these bastards. So, when it comes to vote or sign the petition, get off your asses! Remember, when they sold our elders the property tax bs that they really stole ALL the land in the US and are renting it back to us - called land and property taxes. Fuck schools, roads and all that supposed bs they are going to use it for. Try not paying it and see what happens - they will throw you and your family in the street and rent it to another .... you only buy the right to use the property...
