Is it already too late?
Things only get harder once they have their hands in the till.

They want to take away your right to home growing so everybody has to buy from .........WHO?

Here is how it starts!

California of all places???
A significant issue in a lawsuit filed against the county by a woman who was fined $43,000

The reporter can be reached at (559) 441-6166, mbenjamin@fresnobee.com

isn't the real fear here that you don't want them taking away sales from "who know YOU"?

I'm not paying any fee to anyone. What I do in MY home is MY business, period.
I will not buy cannabis from the government or anyone else.
If having a harmless personal hobby ends with my government putting me in a cage, then so be it.
I couldn't give a flip if cannabis is legal or illegal, I am an adult and I've made MY decision to grow cannabis for MY use. Everyone else will just have to deal with it (or, apparently, lock me in a cage).

The servant class in the US are pawns in someone else's game no matter which way they vote. Enjoy the game.

Oh trust me. They have a place just for you with that kind of thinking. It's rather small once you consider how restrictive the bars can be and you will also be forced to shower with a bunch of grown men that would love your company.

aren't you motherfuckers home growing right now? why are you voting no on making life easier all around for everyone? is voting yes gonna stop you? will it potentially help keep fellow smokers out of jail?

This is right. As long as legalization doesn't increase penalties on home growing (it won't!, and has not), you will better off than now!

So I would say if legalization doesn't increase penalties, you should be voting yes on ANY legalization , because we must move forward!

What!!!!!
I am not posing the info again, home growing is not allowed in many legal states.
$200 fine per plant in Cali right now!

That is why I say vote no or else!
There is a lot of info on the first page of this thread for those interested in the truth!

I as well as everyone I know or will sit still long enough to listen to me is voting yes on legalizing everything that comes down the pipe. It's the growers that are trying to hold on to their profit that are against any form of legalization. Personally I would rather spend a few bucks at the local store to get some decent bud, fuck who is making it. Ray Charles can see that big money is going to steamroll into this industry and take it all over. So what. Big deal. Weed is weed. These are changing times and it is rather awesome to see whats next.

if you're stupid enough to believe the corporate overlords are simply gonna outright legalize on a mass scale without a forced hand you're oh soooo goddamn delusional.

the only way we can expect to see any change on this is gradually over time.

20 years ago it was pretty much just cali. here we are in 2014 and half the nation is poised to be legal/decrim.

you sit around on your no vote. the rest of us are gonna progress forward and take every fucking centimeter we can snatch back from these fucks.

i don't get these greedy characters either. they must be having visions of sugarplum fairies waltzing with moneybags or some shit.
y'all think they legalize it and overnight you're gonna be the mickeyD's of weed? wake the fuck up man. you're trippin so hard.

the only thing that's gonna happen is you're gonna be able to offload your weed to dispensaries aka a "legal" middleman/broker or you're gonna be able to grow more weed more openly than you do now.

but i can guarantee it, in blood that YOU, MOST OF YOU. are not gonna be the goddamn next harborside. get that shit outta your head. it's like talking to kids telling em they're not gonna be the next michael jordan or, young jeezy, or miley cyrus, or whatever fantasy they're ruminating about.

what will happen and what you should be thinking of instead of being so greedy, is that once it's "legalized/decrim" you can potentially get more "user base" than before since the other 95% of the population that smokes weed in the closet will actually be able to discuss freely and share with each other.

much like growers on this site.

the fact that more people will openly toke will mean more revenue for you since thats all you characters seem to be concerned about.

there's 300 million (or so they tell me) in this country. stop being so fucking greedy, there's enough $$$ to go around.

oh wait one last scenario i almost forgot about.

you might be a shitty grower and in the era of legalized/decrim with more options people might stop fucking with you and go elsewhere for their "meds" .

sucks2BU

A little crass, but well said. Once the really big money gets involved, 90% of these "growers" will be looking for an actual job because the prices WILL hit the skids. And I say that is a good thing.

Yep... and yall can choke on whatever toxic garbage monsanto feeds you to hit their yields... positive and negative always go together... cannabis can be covered in toxic mold, or coated in commercial-grade synthetic fertilizers, miticides and insecticides such as phosphate and Diazinon, which can be especially toxic if improperly applied... and would a weed wal-mart care more about dangerous product? or empty shelves?... They'd spray DDT mid flower to save a crop in an operation like that... every time. fools led by fools making our healing herb actually become cancerous in and of itself. I grow for myself for more than one reason.

Research from Canada shows that some toxins may be more abundant in marijuana cigarettes than tobacco cigarettes.

It have it all wrong my friend. This fear of toxic mold and chemical's that you have are not the kinds of things that happen when professional AG companies move in. That is the fairy tales that growers tell each other and their clients so that they still have a client base. When, not if, but WHEN Phillip Morris or some other conglomerate makes that move, they will have their collective shit together to prevent the doom and gloom so they can streamline the production and profit of that sector. Nobody cares if they get it at Wally World or Target or the corner gas station. That elite ship as long since sailed. Nobody cares bro. If it is legal, potent, and readily accessible at a cheap price, then who really gives a shit (except for the organic hippy grower hipsters and dealers that will actually need a real job).

Hey Seaf0ur, I agree with you on many issues, and I like you contributions here. But - totally legalizing herb would add regulations that would stop your chemical weed scenario from occurring.

Right now the guys that don't grow (not us!) already have to put up with the pesticide drenched, unflushed chemmy buds you speak of. It is everywhere, sadly. I believe legalization would help these consumers, you and I will just be growing anyway!HA

I am from Canada where medical marijuana is legal federally. Our licensed producers here are extremely limited to what pesticides they can use, and they are subject to surprise Health Canada inspections and tests for Cannabinoids, contaminants and mold. I have tried the herb from these legal places, and it is far better than the average commercial herb.

Would I buy it? Probably not, maybe to try some new strains? However, I would rather see my fellow, non-grower humans smoke the tested regulated product than what some greedy basement and warehouse grower puts out now. The basement growers drenching weed in chemicals is really my concern, they are left unchecked, and their products flow all over the market. If people want to grow weed for themselves they should, but once it starts getting sold they should have to test it to ensure safety of customers. Legalization with regulation is the only way.

I can follow that, and I agree with legalization, I simply do not want to lose the legal ability to grow and have that right traded off for corporate cannabis... which I know already exists or we wouldn't even be this far along in legalization.

Legalization should happen.

The right to grow should not be infringed upon.

Complete de-classification from the scheduled list of controlled substances would be the best.

I think the patchwork effect of legalization will prevent monopolization. Only CO companies in CO , only WA companies in WA & so forth for some while, I suspect, maybe decades.

I disagree with the notion that bigger outfits will necessarily poison us- Hell, I suspect they may be better than avoiding it than a lot of current providers. What did they use on that dispensary weed, anyway? Who cares but the people who smoke it?

I wouldn't assign greater morality to small time commercial growers. Like their larger business brethren, they're only as moral as they're forced to be & as smart as they need to be to sell product. That's particularly true where small growers can backpack theirs to dispensaries for cash..

I dont assign greater morality to either side... I expect very little from both in terms of quality... There are exceptions on either side. As far as being "cleaner"... they will use whatever they are allowed... and they are already "allowed" quite a few items on the PAN bad actors list... I only request the right to be left alone and grow myself... and not to have that usurped in the name of cannabis "freedom".

My wife and I just cast our yes votes on measure 91 in Oregon to legalize retail MJ.
I'm an old grower, doing the cat and mouse for several decades with law enforcement.
I really don't care how cheap our wholesale prices drop too.
Supply and demand will always rule any market.

Sure there will be big players in this market, some bad, some even worse.
But for the fact that I can grow some top notch weed for $6 an ounce, add in labor at $50 an hour and I can still keep production costs down to roughly$30-35 an oz.
Now throw in taxes and testing, brings oz's to about $70-80.

Now if 1000's of good small - midsize growers that have pure, tested, designer weed stocking shelves that don't play GMO's, Pesticides on flowers, and nothing added but love and organics.
Why would anybody buy anything but home grown and crafted pot?

Every new law will need tweeking, and 'US', the growers, through organized efforts, will lobby our lawmakers for fair tax burdens, with the right to itemize our taxes to make deductions for business costs related to growing.
Just like any business.

They tax us too much, they keep the black market alive.
We know it, and lawmakers know it.
Everything will be a fight, but after my own whole life being in this fight, I'm ready to be a 100% lawful citizen, working in a free market, producing great weed for reasonable prices.
Peace
