Alien Rose, Sour Grape, and Sour Strawberry...
Along side a few gg4 cuts...
Second round of beans cracking in about a month to prepare the pool to work with.

Well for each strain its a different goal. The sour grapes and strawberries will only be used if I find a plant that has the proper exquisite taste. I only have 4 of each from a friend so those are just a luck shot hoping for an excellent tasting pheno, If I find a suitable plant I may use them for other stuff if not I smoke em.
I popped 15 sour b x sssdh s1 so i can look at the group as a whole, for some reason thats all I got off my plant and I dusted the whole mom, I think my sour b pollen was going bad, it had been stored for about six months at the time. Wether or not to proceed depends on what comes out of them. Alien Rose, same thing a gift, so im poppin em the whole pack to look at the group as a whole, looking for an exemplary black rose pheno, hopefully its in there...
I may or may not use any of this stuff, it depends what I find. Only one im keeping selections from no matter what is the casey f3s to make f4s and recreate the casey x sour bubble i Lost from loudog... shit was do fire,,, I'll pop those a little later.
All of the males will be separated and put through my various tests. I may or may not find a suitable male for future stuff. I have high hopes for the sbxs1... We'll see. The s1 had these giant huge leathery calyxes that were insanity... Wish I had more of them to look through.... Hope I find it!

I see what u mean about the calyx's. Id love to know what u do for ur male selections. ive got about 30 to work down eventually. right now there 21 days into flower and its a giant pollen mess everywhere!

The testing I do is torture like cutting the rootball down the first weeks of flower, drought, starving, overwatering, ice cold water, reveg testing, messing with light cycles. I'll do this to a group of boys. The ones who will hermie will easily show up, heh. To test for purple and coloring I put a tray of cuts from each boy into the fridge for a few days or overnights, then plenty of observations about stem type, smells, leave shape stuff like that.
It is pretty thorough. Im looking for a new special male(s) since I am done with my sour bubble dad, I have progeny tested him and have plenty of breeding stock from him and the sour bubble gets more subtle on a second outcross.

thanks for the clear and concise details. That is very thorough compared to what I am gonna do. I might look into doing some of those ideas. Do u work with just one strain of males and test a batch of those?

I pretty much just check every male I get, you'd be surprised how easy some shit herms outside of normal conditions... Big root chop and topping the first few weeks of flower with off light schedules usually breaks most shit lol.
After that i judge for trichs smell color shit like that. No sense breeding with bullshit males if im gonna use em at all

Yeah that makes sense. U got me thinking I should got top my males that are 21 days in. So they might herm like put on female flowers with stress huh? I got a few hermies out of 80 or so seeds I started but I didn't think about stress hermies like I keep an eye out for in my female flower room.

Thanks I culled the 3 obvious hermies already but still have backup clones for a few for just in case someone came along and said they might be worth looking into but I figure if they show like that then they are weak and need culled. I did have one that just threw a couple female pistils but that was it, I found that odd and still have it going.
Man if u get bored id love for u to take a look at my thread. Any advice at all is great as im just learning about seeds, phenos and breeding. I come from a blessed clone background of 15 years growing.
Any way I was trying to keep an eye out for backward male hermies that dj talks about but im not sure what im looking for exactly and don't want to throw it away potentially.
