Nice! Couple questions. You say 900ppm, is that x500 or x700. We usually talk x500 and give ec on here. Are you using MB at 1.8 ec? Also how are you going to support the branches with all that weight you plan to get on each plant?:tiphat:

never built a tent before so getting shit set up in it is taking more time than i thought. im a big clumsy dude so i take twice as long in the tent so i dont fuck anymore holes up etc.. hence the lacking on the shelves for the nets. you can see the 2x4s and the 1x1s that i will screw/zip tie the nets too. they 2x4s and 1x1s will go around the whole tray. i also still need to plumb the black holes. hand watering is so 2 years ago... i have also been busy trimming up the other room and helping my ol man trim as well. the shit never ends...

i meant to put in ec but wasnt sure without looking what it reaches on on ec. i go by the 500 scale. i checked last night and its 1.8 ec. since i have been using maxi forever i just weigh out what i need on a scale and i know its what i want... i also use advance nutrients ph down as that shit is the strongest i have found yet... the dude at the big hydro store was like this will last you forever. that was over a year ago. a gallon of the orange ph down usually only lasted a couple grows for me.

i use blue lab meters ftw. never had a problem with them. once i thought i had a problem with one but it was because i let it dry out. the hydro store put some of that restore gel on it and it kept working. its my back up but ive never needed it. my trucheon has worked flawlessly from day one. this is all coming from a dude who has almost swapped out almost every digital ballast under warranty in my big room. thank the man upstairs for warranties. ive also been through 2 or 3 crappy cap manual controllers. 1 crappy mlc board fried. even fried a few of the 100 dollar name brand bulbs. fried a pump on the cloner. thats just the shit i can think of right now... i also burned up a few of the home depot automatic sump pumps that pump the runn off out the room. so i just use the harbor frieght pumps but buy their extended warranties. which i have used twice already. man those guys ask a bunch of stupid questions when you warranty a pump out.

Such a quality post, I don't even know where to begin. Spot on hombre! You've been getting good advice.

You're doing this "right" which is a bit unusual for the online forums. Many here are in the cheap-as-possible routine and they are missing out on the kind of gains and simplicity I'm sure we're going to see in your grow space.

The HF Phantoms are being upgraded to the Phantom 2, so if those do break down in warranty you'll probably get an even nicer upgrade next time around. Still square wave so you can keep those Horti's running.

Although, something you should REALLY consider (especially with that expandable Gorilla tent) is Double Ended lighting. Gavita and EPapillon are the big names in the game right now but really, any high frequency ballast can be used as long as you have the right DE sockets on the reflector. Compared to you current setup, with what look like Epics/Magnums? Hortilux 1000's and Phantoms, you could have paid even less for a Gavita DE system up front, and over the long haul on bulb replacements, along with a solid 15% more photons for your Kwh. If you can handle the ceiling space and the canopy management, these systems are a sure bet for multi-light setups.

Black Hole drippers are really catching on. I can't decide if I want to do those, or just a 1/4" tee and make a drip line ring with some punches in it supported by a stake or two.

Advanced pH Down is definitely the most concentrated of them all. I know a few GH fanboys who just will not convert. Sad really, seeing them throw away money thinking they are getting a better product from GH.

CAP - Thank god they are gone. The new Autopilot line from Hydrofarm takes all the issues from the old CAP systems and improves on them. The pH dosing/control system they have is sick.

Bluelabs are dope. KCL storage solution all day every day!

It sounds like your grow space ruins a lot of electronics and you chalk it all up to "they all must make shitty equipment." But there is a similarity, or a trend, here. They are all plugged into YOUR electrical. This makes sense that the retailers are trying to understand why you seem to keep ruining commercial grade equipment. My guess is that spikes in your current are to blame and that you should strongly consider getting your electrician in there to do some deep troubleshooting on the system. Don't be too prideful in this regard, you could be costing the people who are helping and supporting your grow with equipment.

Grow on!

I've been waiting a pro sparky to see why I go through gear so bad. I think i might have had a bad batch of bulbs and ballasts.I had the purple hydro stars that used to have the fans. The new ones are bigger but no fan inside. I live in a mountain town so idk if that's it. I had a idiot grow bro leave a intake plugged in but left exhaust unplugged because it was cold out. Dude had no commons sense and had rH dripping down the walls. Maybe that screwed the ballasts up but they lasTed a long time before going out. Hydro dealer acts like it ain't uncommon i always feel bad.

I'm thinking about gavitas in the big room when I do my upgrades.

I think it's pretty common to feed 1.8 or 900 on 500 scale. That's how the kiss method work . I don't pay for water.
