Help me grow out somethink decent :)

Hey everyone.
I am from latvia, in latvia grow's arround some wild strain called ruderalis, i beleave its from russia.
Todays Latvian temperature, weather and sun isn't apropriate for outside growing.
Average temperature is arround 7 c here and its raining each second day.
So am considdering growing in-doors.

What we will discuss on this thread :

1) I will need your support, and oppinions about everythink.
2) Also we will talk about lighting and everythink else that will need to grow plant.
3) We will talk about which seeds will do best for me and where those could be purchased legit'ly.


Later on i will update this thread with pictures taken from my htc desire phone about few places in-house where i could start growing somethink.

First place option is pc case, i was thinking to build grow box out of it. 1 problem - hight of it its to small is there such plant that could grow in pc case ?

Second place option is wardrobe case , i think ita good option because its high in width and hight, but i think i will have to put some light reflection thinks all arround.

Third option is actualy shower room, i think its second best option because theres alot of room to work in and it have little vent to refresh some air inside.

Give me your oppinions.

Sry what means extraction? Shower is bout 1.5mx1.5m x 3 meters hight

You should first think about how you deal with problems (odor control) that might get you caught in first place. If I was you I would forget about the PC, shower and the closet. Just get a tent with a proper fan and filter and you will get rid of the marijuana odor so one less factor to deal with.

As for your soil, you can grow in it but I think you won't get the max from it. A lot of these standard soil are fertilized, usually it will be enough for a couple weeks. But after these weeks you need to give them nutes. Beside these fertilized soils are not good for seedlings because the nutes in the soil will burn the roots. For seeds you need seedling soil which doesn't have any ferts at all.

If you have short summers and you want to grow outdoor just take strains with a short flower period. Try to find a spot where nettle grows, cannabis loves the same soil as nettle they're even related to eachother.

1 odor of mj is really that big problem? It doesent smell like reg. flowers like only when you put you nose very close to plant it starts smells. Or its super smelly and it will smell even if 5 meters away?

2 if my soil can burn seed-tales then I should use one that dont have fertilizers but how I will give a plant nuts later on ?

3 I have green house out side but I will have to wait whole winter + some more bonus time untill I could use it.

some marijuana has been reported to be smelled over a kilometer away. that is not most marijuana though. but most all strains will stink up your whole house

Hello Sergey,
If you want to grow now, it'll have to be an indoor grow. I live in Israel, and even here it's already too cold for many strains.. I suppose the time available for growing outdoors in Latvia isn't too long..

If I were you, I would choose the bathroom stall. It's a decent space, with watering and draining solutions already in place. You should close it, so it has reflective walls.

Weed stinks! BAD ! My last cheese grow was super stinky, even in the vegetative state you could smell it a room away.. Proper ventilation and odor control are a must for your grow.

Maybe you should consider a hydroponic setup? It seems such a good place for a drain-to-waste setup..

1. Yes thats the main problem with marijuana, the smell of it is very noticable. Every strain will have this smell, if you wont filter it you will smell it in your street. People and neighboors will smell it and call the cops. This is how a lot of people get busted.

If you have a carbon filter you will smell nothing. I had a grow tent in the room where I sleep and I didn't even smell one thing.

2. You germinate the seed in seedling soil, after one or two weeks you transplant it to other pots. These pots you fill with fertilized soil. At this time the plant roots wont get burned out.

If you have liquid fertilizers you should give them with the water. But if you use standard soil I think its hard to know how much to give them. So it's better to start with a light mix. Or a mix that has no nutes at all so you have better overview on what they get and what they need.

3. If you want to use your greenhouse I would use autoflower seeds because you don't have a long summer period. I wouldn't use the greenhouse because of the marijuana smell. It can alert people to call the cops. So I think in your situation the best way would be a tent do grow totallt safe without any problems.

I think he will need def more than a 400m3 fan. I would take atleast a fan of 780m3. If it gets too hot in that room the 400m3 fan needs to run on 100% plus you have the chance this won't be enough and it will also produce more noise. If you use a 780m3 fan you don't have to run it on 100% so there is less noise and it will be easier to control the temprature.

It's time for a formula I always use to calculate the fan and filter:

Determine the capacity of the fan
You count the wattage of all your bulbs and add 30%, this should be the capacity of the fan.

Wattage / 100 * 30 + wattage

Example:
600W / 100 = 6 (this is 1% of 600)
6 * 30 = 180 (this is 30% of 600)
So we have the 30% and the totall wattage so we need to add them together.
180 + 600 = 780m3

Determine the capacity of the filter
Count the wattage of all the bulbs, split it by 2 and add 15%.

Wattage / 2 + 15%

Example
600W / 2 = 300
300 / 100 = 3 (which is 1% of 300)
3 * 15 = 45 (which is 15% of 300)

Now we simply add them together which is:
300 + 45 = 345m3

When to change the filter?
I change the filter every two harvests just to be sure. There is an another trick to see when to change your filter. You need to change the filter when it's weight has increased with 30%.

Lets say the filter weights 10kg. After every harvest you weight it, if the weight gets around 13kg you get a new one. Good luck.

Hm turns out that I can't grow in the shower room because of the smell. Then I am thinkin to build home made grow box and place it in the bed room.
if I place carbon filter in box then air that will come from it will be smell-less ?
