go Vjax bro! glennon loves to target him(16 times last week!) and bucs will be airing it out in the superdome for sure...I'm playing him heavy on fan duel, especially for the $6100 salary...lucks got a lot of options, glennon has much fewer...vjax gets the ball more than Hilton every time just because he's THE guy...and the likeliness of bucs playing from behind in the superdome is high...also glennon should have more time to make his throws...Baltimore can bring the pressure...big game for Indy's TE's and the check down...Hilton might get a few long bombs and maybe a td but I think floor and ceiling are both higher with vjax this week

Right there with ya on monte though, I really need him to produce also.

nice find, ottoman. 80% of money line bets on bears-panthers is on the bears. hmmm. dont know what it was like early on in the week, so cant compare how it shifted, but that seems... interesting.
but if it doesnt track bet amounts, only % of bets on each team, then how are you to know where the big/smart money is going?
you cant, thats why you suck at this. haha im only joking.
i like the idea of using raw statistics like yds/play to evaluate the true ability of teams, does that have the tendency to remove the element of luck? or something. i guess that's what the experts use as well and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt...

Yes you can track the smart money still baba, when the lines shifts in a funny way that doesn't make sense to how the bet %'s are it usually indicates 1 of 2 things....1. big money bets or 2. professional better(s) aka someone(s) the casino's respect that win more than lose.

When team A starts the week giving 8.5 pts at say 65% and then its dips to 7 pts by the end of the week you would think that would tell us that Team B is starting to get more bets in than team A so the books are trying to even it out to 50/50. But if team A is still getting 60+% by the end of the week and team B is still only getting 40% this example doesn't compute. This is where you can get an idea of where the smart/professional money is going. Team A has more bets on them at 60% but the line moved in favor of team B at only 40%, why is that? If big money or more prossional betters were wagering on team A the line would have reflected that by moving up and not down.

It's not something that happens on every game its happens occasionally so its not something that works for every game to tell where smart/professional money is going. Sometimes is won't even happen during the week. I hope this makes some sense.

Man I love fanduel ... I wish would have started GB defense this week! I got Lacy on a few squads... I love Kelvin Benjamin and Steve Smith for their prices..

Also Brian Hoyer with Jordan Cameron coming back is a cheap QB ..let u stack up at other positions... shit we should do a fanduel thread :)

I'm all down with a fanduel thread! I like keenan allen @ $7k, he has yet to really have his "big" game...vs patchy jets secondary I like it...

I pulled lacy out of a few lineups at the last minute...oh well

That carolina vs bears you bring up is a decent example, the line moved in favor of the bears by a half point this week yet they're getting 86% of the bets, why would a team who is getting 86% of the bets this week have the line move in their favor? I only assume but its tells me again maybe there are a couple big time bets on carolina which is keeping the money of each side of the bets even. Who is putting big money on carolina right now? Just some stupid guy with a big check book, its possible but its probably the people who win money IMO.

That being said I wouldn't bet the game based on those numbers myself but if you put a gun to my head off that info I'd take carolina -3.

Ottoman..

Fanduel is a daily fantasy league..u can bet anything from $1 to $1000's.... You can play in tournaments of 10,000s of people at once.. or you do small head 2 head leagues..

You get $60k and have a roster to fill out... for example
Andrew Luck is the #1 player on fanduel and he cost $10K of your $60k... Where someone like Christian Ponder on Thursday night was $5300... Everyones value changes per week based on performance

Maybe the line moved a bit because they were getting 75% of the bets and now its 86%? (i dont know what the line was earlier in the week and that page doesnt tell you either, looks like)

But I like the logic in your earlier example. do these smart/big money bets tend to pan out? like you said, maybe its some moron with a big checkbook (could still get lucky) or maybe its someone who has insider knowledge (this player is going to play, etc) which could still have minimal impact in the end. i suppose part of the reward is the greater return if you bet the underdog (assuming thats where the smart money went - does it ever go to the favorite?).

nice looking wings, fbn. fried hard, mild buffalo sauce, nice gameday food.

Dont get otto started on fanduel, guys. it's like heroin for gambling addicts... like a speedball of nfl gambling and fantasy football...

Even at 75% you would assume that because 75% of bets are on the bears the lines that opened at -2.5 that the line would move down in favor of carolina to say 2.0 or 1.5, but instead last night when I saw those numbers the line went up to -3 with now even more bets on the bears at 86%. This is the point where I assume where the big money is, only 14% of the bets going to carolina yet the line is working against them. This tells me the book wants more people to bet on the bears at -3 to even out the amount of money being bet on each side. So it comes down to do I want to bet with 14% of the people with big money on Carolina or bet with the consensus 86% of betters that that have in total less money on the bears? That will always be a individual decision of course, for me personally if I like a game then I notice this type of activity going on, I then looks at stats and will decide if I am actually gonna bet a game.

This was my last hit of crack and line of speedball for the the numbers. LOL. And I am not a degent just a hobbyist, when I can enjoy something outside the garden many times I enjoy it to the fullest, like when I go hiking I love me an all day 11-13mile hike up in the white mountains or Katahdin. Numbers in general have always been interesting to me I think they tell us so much information on many things other than football.

He's built like a linebacker. Did u see that defensive player just bounce off of him. U could tell he didn't even want to hit him.

Lot of great games in the first session. Cleveland comeback was good. Buffalo doing it with kyle orton, and the rams almost pulling it off.

Pretty much all those games ended up being good.

Looks like that smart money on the jets was a bunch of delusional ny fans with too much money. plus mark sanchez has somehow come back to the jets in the person of geno smith. just awful. if they start vick from now on maybe they have a chance

that smart money bet would have worked well with the bears/panthers. im beginning to think cutler is not going to lead us to the promised land.

i agree, theres more to enjoy in this world than football and numbers. although i enjoy them both very much, even though they cause me much angst as well.
