GDP Purple Dream x 2. Goal 2 lbs

Looking great man. I am also growing PD in coco and coco hempy's. The "kolas" are on the smaller side but i think the potency makes up for it. I got a mainly green pheno thats leaves turn bright yellow with purple edges when it gets to about 10 weeks. I am very pleased with my freebie from GDP seeds looking forward to more in the future.

Purple Dream#2 has been chopped and is drying now. A week ago I took a sample, and I must say, it is some of the most potent stuff I've grown. Arguably, it is the frostiest, sickest stuff I've ever grown. The pictures do NOT do it justice.

After letting the sample piece I took dry for a few days, I checked on it and my stomach dropped because I thought it had molded all over. It was the white frost! Amazing.

This pheno is COMPLETELY different than the other, as you can see from the pictures. The other Purple dream, #1, looks like it's going to be much more like Blue dream. It is on it's 7th week now, and there's no way it will be done in 2 weeks.

PD#2, the one I just chopped, had many amber trics at 8 weeks. I probably could have started flushing at 7 weeks. I waited until 8 weeks and then flushed for 6 days. It really got pretty in the last 2 weeks.

If you've followed this journal from the beginning, you'll see at first, I said I might not even grow the #2 pheno again, because it started so slow. Now.... I'm considering dropping a couple of my other strains and only growing this for awhile. It's unreal!

Enough chit chat, here are pictures:

A couple cola pics:

And a dried piece. After the chop, I have 5 hangers full, so that should be around 10zips. I'll take it!

And here is Purple dream #1. No doubt I'll have at least a bow here, but still have about 3 weeks to go:

Sorry about the lack of post . Capn your work is stellar. I read through your grow log and saw your grow style very good work brother. You must live near the North pole because your PD is supper frosty. :tiphat::tiphat::tiphat:

Killing it...... That #2 looks purdy....how's the smell and taste. I have a couple to go through later but your making me want to pop them now. Great job.

Nicely done! The attention to detail in the grow and in the posts suit the username well.

Hey Cap'n, you say not to use cloth pots for this, is it because the Rockwool is too light to support it?

I was thinking about doing this style but really like my smart bags. Have you had success with straight perlite in a setup like this?

Thanks

So after some decent curing time, the smell and taste are both really deep. Or, I should say, it has a rich flavor, like rich red wine; a conneseur's delight, for sure.

I am not a heavy smoker, so anything gets me bent, but my buddy (who's tolerance is so high he has to dab oil or wax in order to get there), says this Purple dream is the first flowers he has been able to smoke out of a bowl and really feel good.

Clean clean set up...

Thanks MC

Thanks Nes, I try to make things easy to read.

I've had a few people use my technique with cloth pots with no issues. But what happens is (and maybe this happens in dirt too) is as the synthetic nutrients soak the fabric pot, salt is left behind as the water evaporates. This causes the root tips to be in a higher concentration of salts. In addition, when the fabric pots are wet, it is a giant "wet" thing in your flower room, evaporating water. This causes humidity to rise a bit.

perlite might work but I have not tried it. I really like the grow cubes.

Setting a very high standard. I've popped at least a dozen strains (with multiple phenos) and I've never had something this nice.

Here's the scoop on the "other" purple dream. It was basically a very Blue Dream-ish pheno. Nice frosty, big colas, and great bag appeal. But wow, the branches on this blue dream are like rubber. Even in the SCROG, I had to yoyo up every cola. Any that were not yoyo'ed just fell right over, even the ones that were not very heavy. I'm flowering out one more of these but only because I had taken a clone of it, and there is no reason to waste it. But this will be the last one.

It just goes to show how when you buy some of the new, hybrid crosses, you never know what you're going to get. I consider myself VERY lucky to end up with the A+ purple dream pheno. I just put another one into flower and I'll start a new journal on it soon.

Thanks for all the great feedback, all.

Wow Cap that a chonger you got there and talk about Greazzy!
I have a very similar cut, maybe when I get a few more posts I can show ya.

Lol, compliment for sure. I topped the Purple Dream Cut for the first time earlier in the week and shes almost recovered, would love to show ya sometime, maybe in a few when she's blooming.
Hows the smoke on the Blueish cut compared to your keeper? Is one fruitier than the other?

Just a request for insights to growing this strain. Running White OG and this for an 8 week grow. 6 plants per flood table. Had a disaster before with unknown plant strain (don't ask). running 1000 watt lights. What can I expect in weld - looking for 2lbs for 6 plants. Sean of green but higher with string to hold weight... suggestions? I just had to chop/kill over 25 plants in flower dead due :peacock:to bad advice.

The purple dream is a F1 hybrid. That means dad was GDP and mom was blue dream.

Some kids look like dad, some kids look like mom. Some kids look like both.

One of my two kids looked like a cross between the two, and these are the pictures I posted. It stretched very little in flower. It was not a high yielder but oh so pretty and frosty. It has a very deep, rich taste to it. I don't think you will have a problem getting a zip per sq foot at all.

The other, looks just like mom. It was straight up blue dream. It stretched like a mo fo, and had very sativa-ish leaves. But it did finish in 9 weeks. The blue dream pheno has a soaring high, and a lighter taste. I had colas stacked with buds, 12-16" tall. Very nice yield. But rubber - like branches. Every cola had to be tied up with a yoyo. If you get this pheno I would say you can get 1.2-1.5 zips per square ft, under 1000W.

Unless you get a dud, I don't think you will be upset about the yield on either one. Blue dream is known to be a great yielding plant.

Hey capn are you still planning on journaling your purple dream? I also have one lol and if you want to show a similar grow let me know.

I have a lot going on right now so I don't want to commit to a real journal, but I'll be posting some exciting pictures here soon.
