Got a jar full of landrace seeds from when I went to Jamaica about 15 years ago. Popped about 30 total over the years and they still germ as of 5 years ago. In the freezer waiting for me to pop them.

I have many seeds from the 90's. All kinds of stuff. Some labeled some not some pop some dont. I saved 2 of the MarkIV, a NL #5 I worked with, and I have tried to germ them with zero success. Saving last 2 for future methods.

Wife has a pill bottle of seeds full from 96-01 circa. The seeds are from anything she found interesting. Will be germing some soon as she just found them and i almost pissed myself. We didnt know each other then but i know some of the seeds could very well be from my work. I just love seeds, everyone a mystery!

Here are some first progress shots of the SSSC South African/Haze rejuvenation project.

I hope you'll do a full thread dedicated to this project!

I realize it's probably a lot of extra busywork, but it seems like the kind of thing that deserves its own thread.

Yes. I will be starting a separate thread as this grow/breeding project moves along.
Didn't want to tempt the fates on this...
Am keeping detailed photos/data on it all.
The seedlings will be transplanted this week.
Still can't believe how wonderful it is to have four healthy specimens to work with, grow & study.
Thanks for the positive waves!

O.K.
Here are my four seedlings from sssc m-48 South African/Haze seed stock. Dating back 26 years in deep-freeze.
Seeds were germinated on 15 September. Sprouts began to emerge on first two 48 hrs. later. Transplanted once to reduce stress.
Goal number one; hopefully get both male & female plants. Clone & label.
Then one generation of inbreeding to fully rejuvenate t ghost e strain and make pure seed stock. Then choose some crosses to gain hybrid vigor, while maintaining & appreciating this original pure old sativa. It's going to take some time. But really worth the effort.
I'm not privileged yet to post my own threads, so please bear with me as I proceed. I'm also a much better plant person than a computer one. I will endeavor to do my best and hope to learn as I get going..
Here are my precious ones at day 26, yesterday.

The oldest seeds I played with were from 1996 - DJ Short Flo . I received this dusty pack in 2013 and managed to get one to grow . Should have left the pack alone though and auctioned it off as a novelty ..

Original Dalat!
You are one fortunate guy.
So cool that the seeds still pop...
I assume these go back to the seventies.
Please post more on this if/when you can.
Thanks for sharing!

How is the smoke on CTF and is seeds avail? Thanks for all the info guys.

sorry none of my strains are in seed banks, The smoke is awesome !!! She is a great up energetic get things done sat high, no ceiling, no tolerance issues, she enhances lights and sound, For me 2 bong hits last for 4 hours and a next hit climbs on top of where I was at. She creeps slowly takes an hour to peak

I freakin love her

I was.Spent a year in the Springs managing a couple of grows there.
I had been hired due to my many years in general gardening/farming knowhow and like yourself, decades spent on "ze plant".
As I've heard before, " it's not smoking pot that's additive, growing it is".
In any event, in Colorado I got my wish!
6-7 day weeks, month in, month out.
Grew for the owners/investors.
Not what my vision had been. But was completely organic soil-based indoor at least. I lasted a year.
Now I'm running my very own very small caregiver op back in the heartland. Legal. Small. No crazy push but an enjoyable pastime and avocation for a quieter phase in life.
I do get to Boulder on occasion, as well as the Springs.
I have many old and new friends I keep in touch with.
At the moment though, I'm totally immersed in my work here.
Your strains and work sure look fine!

A question; have you ever grown the Viet Bao Silver Leaf strain?
I have always wondered if it were the real thing.
I grew and bred pure a "Viet-Lao" while out in Colorado.
Did get approx. 150 seeds. And no Hermie parents.
Took 14 weeks, but was a beautiful sativa.
I want to try it again soon as more space becomes available.
Good to meet you!

I have thousands of seeds from 1973. My father open pollinated with plants from seed mostly collected at university of Maryland. Some of the plants were grown from seed collected in panama a year prior. These were supposed to be panama red but who knows. The seeds were stored in an attic for 30 plus years and due to the summer heat and age they are clearly dead. What should I do with these?
