hi pico,
nice system :good:

in your first post here you said you usually grow on concrete. when it is not the case you use pond liner.
just a quick Q: when dealing with concrete, do you use any liners or just leave it as is? flood can occur in any room do i would like to hear if you have a system sorted out for concrete floors.

stay relaxed :smoke:

Pond liners do work very well, no doubt about it. For those of you who might need something a little more durable though, check out TPO at any roofing supply company. It is more durable than pond liner and has a nice white color to it, so it reflects a little light as well. Seems are easily dealt with by using TPO tape. This is what we utilize in all our rooms and it holds up for years. Very helpful thread pico!

good find,
however,
is it neccessary to heat the TPO as it is the case with most roofing materials or can this be done with some glue or other adhesives?

I used this principal in my micro grow-cabs. Instead of pond liner I used heavy duty plastic sheeting. A little tape to secure it to the walls is all thats needed :)

Nope, not necessary at all. Do you mean to seal the seams? All you need is TPO tape. I use Calpico brand, I believe its called.

Sorry for the ancient bump, have been dealing with floors and this is good info

Awesome tip ic. I have no experience with thermoplastic olefin, but I do understand that olefin will not off gas the ya that anything with vinyl in it will. PVC pond liners may work, but when you get the one that does off gas your gonna have a bad time. Edpm or tpo are definitely the safer bet. You can get Edpm pond liners at lowes but to the best of my knowledge they are a special order product now,

I've been using rubber pond liner [inner tube type material] for close to 9 years with no leaks, no problems. Easy to work with. Use double stick tape sparingly under and Gorilla tape on edges. Good luck. -granger
