6/9 & A Pinch BayBay!

my blue lab pen must be the best in the world , works better than all that other cheap junk. it is supposed to be stored in electrode storage solution.
storing in ph buffers and DISTILLED water are not suitable for storing ph electrodes as they can upset calibrations.=storage solutions are structured formulations that do not interfere with chemical compositions of the liquid gel that is contained within the electrode.
I did get some pain in the winter until I figured the 2 buffer solutions needed a little warming up, then BANG worked straight away. this the new type blue lab pen.

Calibrate every month for optimal results.

Calibration requires cleaning first.

Buy KC Storage Solution.

Before using probes, get cup of water, place probes in water, then in res.

After taking measurements, replace probes into water cup.

Clean the EC/Temp probe first with a clean towel or rag.

Next whip off all excess water from the PH Probe. Wipe down towards glass end, immediately insert into PH Probe Cap.

Clean ph probe cap with hot tap water once a week. Disassemble and clean each piece. Place new solution, under the fill line in the ph probe cap. Too much storage solution and you get the salt chunks on the top of the cap because it leaked out.

This is how I take care of mine and Ive been testing it to see how long the calibration can be stretched because I don't think every month a calibration is required. Maybe every 2 or 3. but they wanna make money!

Only complaint I can muster up is its a little fussy with the long wires? LOL.

For the most part they work. But at the shop they say they get a lot of warranties. So even if it's 20 out of a hundred, which is a really high number of failure you are gonna have 80 in a hundred saying that you are wrong because theirs works fine

So far the bluelab seems like a different quality of product from the hannas. I have been happy so far, I think I have had a couple hannas fail before in the amount of time I have been using the bluelab.

Anybody with experience with using 6/9...around what day do you typically drop the micro? i know it varies but whats a good average day?

I don't drop micro at all but rather reduce it the 10 or so days before my final couple days of straight water. I've tried gh's recommended ripening schedule and it worked out for me. I believe it was 4/8 then 2.5/8 before the water only.

I grow 10 wkrs for the most part so I believe if were using 10 weeks for an easy # to work with .. I believe h3ad would have cut it after week 4 or 5 (im keeping it week 5 for sure) after possibley doing a week of 6/12 for the pk boost. Coconuts ran it all the way through right? So ive been debating on cutting it at week 7 or 8..but now that hulkk mentioned I think ill just reduce it down easily from week 6 or 7 instead of just cutting it completely and hoping I dont starve the plants too early. For some reason I was only thinking of cutting off completely and not reducing as an option.
Thanks Hulkkkkkk .

I cut it out on day 35 on 8 week strains an N loving strains they get it 2 more weeks from there or if its a 10 weeker i run it another 7-14 days depending on what she's telling me. Gotta use 6/9 as a guide an listen to the plants needs.

Keeping the micro in definitely worked out better for me than cutting it completely out. It will affect yield and also cause the plants to cannibalize too soon. When I cut micro out I noticed the swell was short stopped. So ya keep it in and just reduce feed strength. The GH ripening ratios worked for me and should be a good guideline for the timing of when to change ratios. Always willing to share results from experience!

some pics of my recent grows. still hand watering once a day :( pain in the ass need to go automatic.

Why? I think drip systems save you from so much work! Something I would normally have to do every day, I NEVER have to do. I just mix nutes in the reservoir and I'm done.

The only real issue with setting up a drip is handling runoff. Once you have a system for dealing with it, the drip system will be the best decision you ever make. It will give you bigger, healthier plants, in less time, with smaller pots, and less media, as well as reduces your workload immensely. It is rather inexpensive to setup as well.

$15 for a 396 GPH pump
$20 for some poly hose and fittings
$15 timer
$10 rubbermaid bin for a rez.

The Eco Plus pumps are not the most reliable, but they get the job done just fine. $15 for a 396 GPH pump is a steal, so cheap that it's easy to have a few extras on deck just in case.

Can you give a quick chime on how your irrigation is set up? Looking for ideas as I have been hand watering daily as well.

I love hand watering. Maybe its just me but I like to look at all my ladies everyday. Get all up close n personal and shit. I feel like it shows in the end product. The only real downside to it is dealing with runoff if you dont have something in place to handle it.

A nice lollipop 2 weeks in helps a lot with larf kibble. It's nice not having to deal with trimming anything that comes out less than a g and also good to trim a lb in less than an hr.
