Deficiencies and possible plant issues **pictures**

He fuked up putting the 6" rockwool cubes into coco. :tiphat:

I wanna start my first coco grow, can I plant clones in 2inch rockwool cubes into coco??? Thanks

Yup. No problem whatsoever.

That works good. Actually you will not even need to plant them in the cocos. Just put them on top of it. That way you can just cut the rockwool cube off after harvest and you are ready to use the coco for the next run.

i've actually read that it can act as a buffer within the coco.
dunno.gif

i''ve gone from 1 inch to four inch with no problems at all...never used 2 inch...but do not see there being a major difference. they are both mediumless..just depends upon how big of a pot you are putting them in.good luck with your 1st go at it...
petard2.gif

drip until runoff 2x per day

use House&garden or Canna Coco A&B, or oldschool 6-9 or 10-15 GH formula

Rockwool can be put in coco. Seemorebuds even uses rockwool in his book, transplanted into soil I believe, you just have to do it carefully.

I guess in essence they should of been healthy before transplant. IDK. wish you the best of luck OP.

Sorry if I misunderstood you 40 yrs.

Oh ok then he didn't fuk up I guess, how about this:

BIG ASS MISTAKE: Placing a hundred clones in rockwool then in coco for the company you work for and then having to go on ICMAG when they start dying, for help, because you know nothing about rockwool in coco.

That better?

Thank you - wasn't aware that was the old formula.

It IS great seeing results!

RE liter is like 180$ though - that's a pretty nice ballast

KLN liter is 23 $ - that's a lot of explosive root growth, IMO it works great and is only need at small applications, last a long time.

RE is $30 for a 100ml bottle on amazon. I'm only using it in veg till they get replanted in the 2 gal smarties. Little bottle will last a long time that way. KLN dosage is 5ml gal and RE is 1ml gal. RE gets a lot better reviews on this forum. I was using SM90 but compared to RE it does nothing noticeably great.

Stoned - it turn out to be a mistake. Thankfully the company is "me".. My other gardens are doing and going without experiments.

I will let them dry for another day or so and go with the planned approach. I may lost a week at best.

You can tp rw into coco just fine, when going from small cube 2" or less into coco. The prob with the 6" is now u have a bigger % of volume of 2 diff mediums holding 2 different levels of moisture. So they will not dry at the same rate making caring for them more challenging.

Ive got a half used silver bottle of the re been sitting around for a year and a half. anybody know if that shit goes bad?. Its not a miracle cure by any means, but I think it might help. Might have to put it to a test again. I just don't like anything in a res besides clean nutes.

there is a difference between a clone which was rooted in a small rockwool cube, then transplanted into coco (OK), vs. a rooted clone transplanted into 6" rockwool cube, which is then transplanted into coco (not recommended)

been said already, it will set you back a few weeks, but they should be ok just give them pH'd nutes at low strength and let them dry out a bit between , raise the lights until they bounce back.

It has a shelf life of 3 years according to house and garden.

Thanks. Not sure if this info will get through in this hijacked thread but. Small correction. The cube size is 4 inches. Not 6 if that makes a difference.

I will never mess with such ideas again.
Othere then let them dry and light solution should I add root Excelerator or superthrive, revive, etc.. Something for the stress? I think it would've be good idea. Don't you?

sorry if the thread got derailed, thought you made a inquiry.

1 in to 4 inch no problems (for others)- refer to my post on 2nd page. post #21

good luck.

Most of them had little bit of roots ends coming out on the bottom of the cubes.
The cubes themselves came straight out of packadge and I was feeding them with flora micro and floralitious. PH was 6.0.

Wait... What?
Just micro, no grow or bloom?
Anyhow, rockwool doesn't have the same CEC as coco and the 6/9 formula probably isn't the best approach for the cubes.
These plants seem really hungry. I would give them some food instead of flushing them. Just water with plenty of runoff with your full strength feed.
H&G 8ml should get them going

Sorry. I forgot. I gave them bloom as well.
I watered them well with plain water, raised the light and will give them 36 hour dark period to have them recover as much as they can.
Tomorrow night they should start to show some signs of life ( I hope)

They are in coco right.. Never plain water it just completely fuks the cec. next time they dry up give them balanced coco nutes. If ur trying to reduce medium nutrient concentration just use .5ec of the correct npk, otherwise ur gonna see some wacky deficiencies. Not sure the dark is good for them as they wont use the water in the medium as fast. If u wanna take it easy on them cause they are stressed just raise the light for a few .

I got them perk up a bit by giving them 36 hours of darkness.
They barely drink anything. 4 days and coco still wet.

I do not want to scrap this run completely. They are 4 weeks old. What kind of response do you think I get if I switch them to bloom right now?
