Nah I just want to help, Its just a difference of opinion, u feel like the distance of plant away from bulb is sufficient to work in. That space is a bit to tight for me and the grow would suffer for me cause I wouldn't be able to train it properly. For u it might be the shznit... Rock that shit bro im rooting for ya.

The thing here is, as I expand, I have so much space that it's just counter intuitive to fill it with plants. Although that's almost what I'm doing right now, still a little bit of room here and there to handle business. Filling with more lights and less plants tends to make more sense. We will see which route I end up going.

I also agree with you about working smarter not harder. But each person has their own limits to work within and goals to work towards.

.
What ur talking about here is the limiting factor. Do u have a goal of max yield with max quality, most do, but some just want simple. So if ur med state then it might be plant #s, so more llight less plants will get u there. If u on the dl, then not going over on elec., if its budget then make the best of the budget.

Can anyone link a thread with the checkerboard talk. I Have A 10 X 20 and I am really not happy with it'd performance. Running 2 double stacked donuts with 2k in each octagon. I should probably dial this in as opposed to switch but I have always been interested in these setups.

You could easily fit 2-4 more donuts in that space I think. Would get a little tight at 4, but there would be room to work them if you ran 4x4 trays.

2 long rows of lights would work as would a XO tree room. Just a couple thoughts.

what kind of yields are you getting? how many plants, and what the ve g time?

why are you not happy?

Man my whole game has been off. Terrible car wreck months ago and it's just all out of whack. My thread is in here, vertical limit. Should be on first page. My yields have been all bad though. Enough to keep my afloat but nothing to mention. I think it comes down to inner conflicts with growing etc. I hate defoliating and I end up with to much overlap. My vegging game is all screwed. I just keep needing a few hundred for reflectors here or money for top dressing etc there. I just have been behind for a few months solid now. I run 32 7.5g pots and veg about 4 weeks. I bet these octagons could do good, my environment is all fucked too. Yeah life's been hard heh.

Stay focused, make a priority plan and start tackling in order of whats most important first. First safety and security, then if ur all good there tackle the biggest environment prob first. Just focus and bust that project out and u will feel better and be on ur way to major positive improvements.
Just trying to encourage... hope u get it kickin

Can I get away with saying low? It seemed like. My canopy management ruined me. Probably 3 to 4 lbs of tops a run from each donut. Bunch of shit also.

It was more like 2 to 3 in reality. Was quite bad, but my dirt was bad environment was bad. I was all confused for months after the crash . Was a constant fog of depression and confusion.

that's still not bad for 4 week veg................... i dont think i got close to that on my first double stack donut... and i vegged longer than that...

old pic pic..

a screen, and less plants probably wouldn't have helped me though.. got some nice dense nugs that round though...

I'm real hard on myself. Like overly hard. I know I can do better and it really hurts me when I fail like I have been lately. Appreciated on the words though. Might keep at this octagon and dial it up right.

A overhead veiw of my plants. 4 plants 5000 watts Room is 12'x14'x9' whole room is reflectix. Hung chicken wire from the ceiling I then dropped curtains of reflectix around plants and lights. Kinda more of an octagon than a square. It gives me room to work around the plants instead of trying to crawl in the mix

Veg time usually is right around 8-9 weeks. I just make sure I have established cuts before my next round goes into flower.
It's not dialed in yet. A similar room I ran before my move once dialed in I was just 2 zips shy of 8lbs. Not the most efficient but a good way to keep your numbers in check :)
