Caseyjones massive plants thread..grow show! Enjoy!

So... I am having trouble finding avid or forbid locally. Online is assume would be the plce to get it? Local hydro shop suggested "a-bomb", is supposed to be knock off of avid. Anyone ever tried a bomb? Also was suggested to make a mix with organicide+h2o2+sulpher+ therm ex . Is spray many see positive results with.

I'm pretty sure I saw avid at the murphys hydro shop. Don't know if that helps you..

Caseyjones, did you get the recommmendations? It looks like the paste test is nowhere near the albrecht ratios.. most notably is that K. That seems to be a pretty common problem with all the people running EWSF norcal. Do you know what the symptoms of K toxicity are? Do you have a plan of action?

Good luck to you. I'm waiting for my results but have a feeling we're fighting the same fight. Hopefully we can all come up with some progressive solutions.

Oh man! Don't spray that stuff now!! Looks like you're flowering? At least scope a leaf first and confirm. That stuff is really harsh..

From what I have gathered, K toxicity will lock out nitrogen, phosphorous, magnesium, and manganese, calcium, also boro, iron . Seems to effect the micro nutrient. Which I now release no matter how micro the nutrient , they all play a role in growing healthy plants. Here is a pretty good article on too much K in ur soil. Very insightful.

I like azamax and pyganic together. 1oz each per gallon in a sprayer. Pyganic is a 1.4% pyrethrum, strongest I have found. Id spray, wait two days, spray, wait two more days, then spray a third and final time. Should keep the population in check until the cool weather kicks in and they stop breeding. All you really need is night temps in the 60's.

Hey Casey. Know that you are not alone on the EWSF soil being complete garbage this year. You and many others are in the same boat. It is what it is. So instead of attacking EWSF for ruining many grows this year, lets focus on what needs to be done to save the crop. Your soil test is almost identical to mine. Ca and Mg should be 70% or so of the exchangable cations. K should be one third that amount. Your K on the saturated paste is totally way to much, and is causing N, CA and other elements to be locked out. Additionally the Ph is too high eliminating any hydrogen anions to be present. So here is what you need to do.

Agricultural Sulfur, 1/2 Tablespoon to 3/4 Tablespoon per 200 gallon container. Wet it in and also water in Rejuvinate and Spectrum. Spectrum Extra if you have it. If you do not have the Rejuvinate or Spectrum, do a good tea to feed the microbological herd in the soil. DO NOT use too much Sulfur. If you do it will kill the microbological herd in the soil. The herd loves sulfur, just not alot at once. I have some here if you need it.

Foliar with Ca, and a lot of it. I am still giving my plants N via both foliar and fertigation. I have stabilized my grow and at least will still have a crop this fall, but I started in late may. As soon as the Ph gets below 7.0, the plants will then be able to mine some of the nutrients out of the soil. As for the Ca, I am spraying at 8x the recommend amount of Albion, and they are loving it. I would not try that with Ca25 though.

You will not fix the problem this year, or next, or the year after that. The AEA rep told me to trash the soil at the end of the year because of the high K. Only thing you can do this year is to foliar the Ca and N into the plant. It is a fine balancing act at this stage in the game. Go slowly and just hopefully you will be able to pull off a crop worth having. If you have further questions, please ask. If you need that sulfur, let me know.

Edited: I do have a plan to suck that K out of the soil this fall. That is another topic and it will bring it down, but not to the levels Albrecht recommends. I know alot of people bought alot of soil so it may be the only plan that works for you. We can talk about that later. Lets stabilize the crop now.

I hope you have a strong finish.

How did the light dep turn out?
Light dep was not so great.... Some of the worst I've ever grown. Very disappointed to be honest. Started strong, and finished weak. Going to abandon organics in the green house. Making me feel pretty good actually. Put a lot of trust into this soil and fell short.

That's one way to go about it.

I hope you find some relief.

Are you going to go full on hydro drain to waste cut flower style with rock wool ?

I will using house and garden soil a & b. with drip clean and cal mag plusAlso some extra goodies. Multi zen , algen extract. amino treatment. , maybe bloombastic. Going back to what I know works. . Will be reusing NorCal blend, one more year or more if I don't Load soil with too much salt. I normally use promix , or promix hp and coco 50/50 blend

Sounds cool I can't wait to see your results, I'm about to embark on my own green house trip if I could ever get enough parts in one place to finish building it so I'm just up in the air on how I want to set it up.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. EWSF fell on it's face this year big time and cost a lot of people some big money. See my post in Tom Hills Large Plant Forum for the most likely reason EWSF Soil was garbage. And that is only one reason. I have several others too on why the K was so high.

Sorry Bro. Were both in the same boat with a whole lot of others too.
