Ideal container sizes for multiple daily feedings?

Would those of you with some experience please post what size plants in what size containers under what wattage light you've used in the past and feel is ideal?

Would a 3 gallon smart pot be too big for multiple daily feeds? 12x plants under each 1000w.

Coming from soil I resisted going smaller pots. 3 gal is too big or unnecessary as I found out. 2gal is just right. 1 gal and your plants will fall over unless tied down. Fabric is great and if you already bought 3 gal just fold down the top so it holds 2 gal. My plants in bloom are 6'+ in 2gal smarties, 6 plants around a 1k bulb. goodluck

Thanks, you pretty much said what I wanted to hear. You think the wider diameter of a 3gal bag is better than a taller more narrow 2gal, assuming both have 2 gallons of coco as the media?

I would think the more squat lower height pot would be ideal for plant stability when they get top heavy in bloom.

I bought a few off brand #2s that I thought were 2 gal and turns out they were 10 liter so I cut them down to the same height as the 2 gal smarties I bought after that. They both are 8" diameter. Never read one post were a guy bought 3s just so he could have a wider pot and cut it down, even in case they are wider. If you have 3s use them with 2gal coco, if not buy 2s. I don't see how it can make a difference, 8" or 10" diameter.:tiphat:

I'm all about 1 gallon containers. 1 gallon of coco can hold about 2 liters of water, or about 4-5 lbs. I've never had a problem with my 3' plants in 1 gallon fabric planters tipping over.
