As promised, and still a bit late...

Violeta1, green indica pheno, "from seed", first plant harvested. I guess I could have wait longer but it was swollen, few ambers appearing and I didnt had anything else to smoke anymore. Nice smell and taste but nothing particular, I found the high a bit weak. Very dense nugs, and it had 3 leaves per node at some point (before I defoliated, no pics of it I think)

Unfortunately, no pics of the green sativa pheno, the most vigorous, topped and trained wich you can see at the beginning of the thread. It was my favorite one, with the best and stronger high. Lots of foxtailing, smaller buds but as hard, if not harder and smelled stronger than the other green pheno.

Violeta 3, purple pheno: amazing smell, but small nugs and lots of foxtailing. As it cured, the smell had more and more that "creamy" feel, dont know how to explain. It was like the odour was wrapped in something very smooth, like velvet, hence the creamy sensation. Very good taste, and probably stronger than the green indica pheno, but not much.

Zamal Orient express: one has been topped, the other not, but they approximately gave the same harvest +/- 50g per plant. One was earlier than the other but they both smelled the same way. Quite floral, a bit spicy, actually I was expecting a bit of a hazey taste by the smell, but it has none of it. I did build a pretty good tolerance after 3-4 weeks of intensive smoking. Liked it very much at the beginning, less at the end of the jar.

And here you can see one of the branches I almost snapped when trying to train one of them. Looking back at the pictures, you can see one plant with a bit of black tape in the middle, thats her! All developped quite nice and without problems, you can see it healed very good... and it was almost broken.

So thats it for now. Ill try to upload a pic of the Purple Haze x Malawi and what's left of my seeded Zamal Hash today or tomorrow. I'll also update on my upcoming Malawi's!

Have fun ya all!

Thanx Rüdiger!

The Zamal Orient Express was my bigger yielding plant since I've started to grow plants. I didnt do much different than the others so its strain related I think, it produces huge buds, and its very vigorous and branchy.

About the Zamal Hash: not sure why they hermied (high temps, could it be that? it was almost 30° for 2-3 weeks), and it wasnt banana's but flowers! I saw them very late, but it was a dried flower for sure. Only 2 or 3 on one plant, but a lot of them on another, and they were situated at the bottom/base of the nugs, so you couldnt see them unless you look at them from the bottom wich I never did. I also have to say that I didnt realise it fast because I dusted a Purpel Haze x Malawi clone with Peyote Purple pollen, and at first i thought it was the pollen I used wich travelled in the room but it seemed way too much; so I was right and after the inspection I saw the dried flowers on Zamal Hash 1 and 3 and decided to cut them down. I still have 2 left, but nugs arent getting bigger, all brown pistils and all clear thrics, so not sure what to do with them... let it go or cut them down like the 2 others? I also had a spider mite invasion starting so I heavily defoliated them wich sure didnt help with yield and herm issues, too much stresss in once I guess. So for now they are taking the sun and Im putting them in a dark spot of my house in the evening after 12 hours... will see if other flowers appear or if the nugs grow at all. Thats a good lesson for the future.

hey vlad, thanks for the complete story!

maybe you can try again if you kept the clones, to check if it was stress related!

im pretty much amazed about my zamal hash, as she shows a very high yield potential without any herm signs till now.

Actually I did take clones  but Im also about to give up trying to keep a Zamal crossed plant mother, thats nearly impossible. As soon as she lacks rootspace she goes into flower mode. I have a cutting that I transplanted in a 40/50 liter pot outdoor some weeks ago, its the most branchy pheno I got from my Zamal Hash seeds, one that hermied, she grows very well, almost one meter now, and I realized yesterday that first pistils are appearing... and we are 29th of june!? lol. Crazy crazy plant, the good side is that she will benefit from all summer's sun to form flowers, and ready by mid to late september I guess, well I hope.

:dance013:

My harvest doesnt look like it will be big, but I have to admit I stopped feeding them right when I saw flowers on ZH 1 & 3. I kept 2 & 4, coffee and apple pheno, but they've been starved as I was thinking I'll got rid of them. Glad I didnt, and I also tried some experiment on them by messing with their hours to see if they herm: 8 hours light 16 off, then 12 on then 12 off, then outdoor/indoor, back at messing with hours and so far no traces of a flower or banana, those will the keepers if I can manage them to not autoflower as they are rootbound.

Pics are coming, still issues with the camera...

great job bro
you have a pics of purple hazeXmalawi ???
PLEASE
cant wait to hear your final thoughts

Sorry, just these two as for now. I guess I could have let her go a week or two more but I couldnt wait. Awesome smell and taste. Even with being cut in half and a spider mite invasion, she yielded 50g, under leds. It was the bigger plant of the two but it is also the faster, the smaller pheno is still putting out a shitload of new pistils. Will post pics asap. The other is still under lights.

Remember how she was right after being cut:

... and how she was at the beginning (on the right)

Thanks you very much vladimiroslav for the updates and feedback.

I like a lot your outcome with Violeta, very nice yield for such small plants and considering the yield of this cross is just average (at least compared with other ACE strains). You have found some recessive greener phenos (green chitral) that are usually better yielding than the more archetype colorful Violeta pheno (a very purple malawi x purple pck expression).

I'm glad the Zamal x Orient Express was a heavy yielder as expected.

Honestly, i'm surprised your Zamal Hash hermied, none of the Zamal x Hashplant or Hashplant x Zamal plants we tested hermied, otherwise it wouldn't be released. But it is something that can not be discarded 100 % in a straight Zamal hybrid, considering Zamal line has always a chance to show hermie tendencies. This can be improved in future generations but i like a lot how the hashplant x zamal F1 hybrid performed in terms of potency, yield and vigour. If you find a good one is probably the strongest 50/50 % sativa/indica we have released until date.

I'm looking forward to see the outcome of your malawi and purple haze x malawi, your opinion will be greatly appreciated. Kind regards!

Hi Dubi! I know I'm the one responsible for the hermie issue, and I had the confirmation when I saw dried flowers on a Violeta clone I was harvesting, it was close to the 2 other plants who hermied, exactly where I opened the tent during the dark period when I shouldnt have. So all my fault, no worries :)

I sampled the seeded Zamal Hash plants I cut down early, approximately at the 6 - 7th week. Very strange effect, I cant figure the hell out if Im stone or high. At first you have the hashy taste and smell, and you expect the narcotic stone, quite heavy, and then suddenly its all racy and you start doing anything for the sake of being in movement and not keep static. Very surprising I have to say. And today I just harvested the 2 plants left, 10 weeks of 12/12, wich were also quite strange: I checked with the microscope and even if there was a lot of amber trics, they were clear, not much trace of cloudy or milky. Just clear or amber. Smoke test in a few days. Could it be because they were seeded? Sorry for the noob questions.

The harvest of the first PH x Malawi is curing now, Il try to give a month at least. The other one is still shooting new pistils, so I'll wait 3 more weeks max before cuting it. And I'm curious to see the result of my PHxM clone seeded with a Peyote Purple male. Fingers crossed.

Cheers!

Small update.

So out of 4 Zamal Hash plants, 2 suffered from the lightleaks and hermied at around 5 weeks in flower. I decided to cut them straight. The bigger branchy pheno wich was the strongest one, and another more regular. I kept the 2 others in the room but they were'nt fed with any kind of nutes after the incident. It looks like I had 3 phenos: in the "regular size" plants there was apple pheno and coffee pheno, and then the big and very strong branchy plant wich was smelling of coffee too.

The 2 plants that I cut at 5 weeks gave 25 and 20 g dry! After 5 weeks of 12/12 only... I dont want to imagine what it would have been if I went the whole run. The plants that made it to the 10th week mark gave not much more, wich is a bit strange: 30 and 35g, wich is what I get from my other plants when all goes well, so the yield must be very high on this cross. Shame I failed when I see the results I get nonetheless.

Another thing: this is the stickiest bud I ever touched. Even after 2 weeks of drying, you couldnt break the buds apart and roll a spliff without breaking the paper leaves because of sticky fingers. Worst trimming job ever, but very best charas I've ever smoked. Fantastic.

Taste: Im shit at describing it, so wont say much, its still drying anyway. I like the odor of the apple pheno but not the smoke, too harsch. But the coffee pheno wich I dont like the smell smokes very smooth, and I like it way better. I dont think its harsch from the ferts since the plants have been starved, so I guess its the afghani hashy taste I dont like so much, its very present and that makes me cough a lot unfortunately.

Zamal Hash close ups, the 2 plants I kept after the lightleaks in my growtent, these didnt hermied but were seeded. Small nugs as you can see. Blame the noob.

Greetings vladimiroslav,

Your Zamal hashes look sugary, beautiful colors too!

I'm glad you found them stinky and resinous, i'm sure you can get great results and better yield in a second round and avoiding the light leak problems.

Last and final update. Well, now that I smoked almost all the weed I've grown during the session I can give somme comments.

Violeta was easy to grow and nice, look for the green malawi pheno wich is the most interesting IMO. Strongest high, bigger yield. The others were nice but this pheno was standing out. I revegged the plant this summer and I've put her under 12/12 last week. Hopefully I'll be able to post pics. The others phenos were interesting and smelled nice, more fruity, but the high I found a bit weak to my taste. My note for this one: 7/10.

Zamal Orient Express. Big yielder, a breeze to grow. Pretty vigorous and branchy. Nice floral odors in the beginning, then the spicy side kicked in. Good smoke but it looks like I developped a tolerance quite fast. Had the same pheno for all plants, wich looked and yielded the same. Was expecting a hazey taste judging from the odor, but none of it. My note: 7.5/10

Purple Haze Malawi: my favorite. Had 2 phenos, both were green (too high temps I guess). One was wild and grew like a christmas tree, the other was shorter and more bushy (Malawi pheno I guess). The bigger one had the better taste and the better high, the smaller was a bit more electric in the effect but IMO it lacked a bit of taste, maybe I should have let her go longer... dunno. I took many cuts and decided to test the malawi pheno outside at 50°N. She's around 1.80m now, pot included, lets see if it can grow decent buds in a west european humid climate. Ill try to post pics someday. I took other cuts of the bigger one and just put them under 12/12 last week in the same tent as the revegged Violeta. 4 are in 1 liter pots, one is in a 15 liter pot. It will probably cause me a shitload of problems with space, height and bushiness but hey, you live only once.
My note: 8.5/10

Zamal Hash. A damn fucking shame I've fucked up the grow by opening the tent during night hours + spidermite invasion. The yield would have been very big. despite the problems the plants yielded almost the same tweight as the others plants in good growing conditions.
Had 2 phenos, one more hashy, skunky, rubbery, the other was sweeter and more fruity (apples). The first smoke tests made me like the fruity pheno much more, but after a cure I must admit the skunky hashy pheno is really standing out. Very good taste and high, I was coughing a lot but then the cure made something I guess. Potent but not couch-lock, narcotic but not impeaching. The 2 plants I harvested early had a very particular high, you couldnt make your mind up: first you think you're clean, then you realize you're high as fuck but in a speedy, racy clear way, then it slowly weared to reach an interesting state, halfway between stone and high. The good side of my fuck up is that now I have a shitload of seeds to try. ZamalHash x ZamalHash (2 popped and vegging), ZamalHash x Violeta, ZamalHash x Purple Haze Malawi (none of these beans germed tho, already tried). My note: 7.5/10

Thanx for these great strains Ace seeds!
And thanx also to the other members for their nice words, advices and support!

Cheers ya all.
