.

How is everyone heating their collection pots?? Right now im pumping hot water out of a crock pot into a 30 gal tube the machine sits in. Its working but not very well, its heats up my water to 95F overnight then when i run in the morning its stays warm till about the last pass. Itll be perfect for good quality runs but for edibles i need this thing HOT lol.

If you have welded bottom, which bhogarts used to have, the 12" spool fits nicely in a 32 qt steamer pot. I usually have that on a large griddle. Cheap and effective.

4" x 48" column?? is it two 24" columns? seems like it would be no fun clearing such a long column, 36" isn't much fun

nope it came with a 48" x 4" its not horrible, i can fit 2400g in it so i like it lol. I'm trying to think of some faster ways to clear it. I did see a big griddle today, does it hold the weight ok?

So far so good ;) I was a little weary at first but they've all held up just fine...the largest I go is 4x36 but I'm sure that extra foot won't be the straw.....

Ok, im NOT A rep of Bhogart. But I rep them because its what I use and they are local, which I like. I really like the unit, but it can easily be modified to be a MK4 style hybrid. Doing the hybrid would just make things easier, ill talk about that later...
I have to say that im new to closed loop systems, but had hands on training by a knowledgeable person. He came up with the hybrid ideas since he ran MK's mostly. With the base price of the BHOgart, and doing a MK style hybrid. It would be much cheaper to go this route for the size of the system...
I bought a 5lb Twin Turbo. Twin Turbo which means you can use two Appions, for two recovery tanks if you want.

You can see that I only ran one Appion because I only had one recovery tank. The recovery tank is supposed to hold 25-30 butane cans, we got 20 in. Again im new...

Its a 5lb column which is essentially two, 2 1/2lb columns clamped together. I also bought a 1/2lb column for smaller runs. The 5 lb, I was only able to hold a tad over 1000 grams of material in there, and 1/2 lb column holds exactly a half pound....

You can see how tall the 5 lb unit is, he is 5' 10" tall!!

We grinded out over a lb of shatter yesterday with THIS unit and the upgraded recovery tanks...
Busting out another lb today...

This was using two 2.5lb tubes and a 1/2 lb tube...

We are finding the larger tubes are suffering from a lack of pressure to get the entire thing saturated...

A stop cock on the bottom with a flood would make using the bigger tubes optimal...

Getting better yields with the smaller tube. As high as 25%!!!

After making a couple lb's of shatter of the last few days....

Looks like recirculation is not necessary on the Bhogarts to get good yields. I only lose 2-3% yield without circulating and it cuts down the process time...

ALREADY have to buy another tank of N-Butane...

I think those larger columns are 500g and the skinnier one 250g. Time to give up on lbs and just go metric!!!!

I'm NotACop either! LOL. Missed you for about a minute!

Do those braided hoses from Terp have swivel ends?

Also, why not use a second Valve core tool/port to tee the Appions together before the Gauge Set?

I love having a ball valve at the bottom of the column. And having sight glasses in the lid makes the inline sight glasses able to be removed. Ill post some pics soon, just waiting for my bottom flood addition. im going to get one of those rounded bottoms too, that looks like it makes pouring mess free

I was thinking a a convex bottom would be great. The oil on the sides purges way to fast and gets sticky while there is still a pool of butane in the middle of the collection pot....
