Deciding On Your Strain And Where To Get Seeds/Clones

C

Hi. I have bought all the equipment for a Hydro system. I live in SA and would like to know what the best seeds/strain would be to get going and the best place to order from?

Regards

Really all depends! If you like indicas or sativas, your growing skills, etc. but the Bay/Boutique are great places to start!!!

Sativas definitely. Cheese would be the best. My growing skills are seriously limited because I'm trying to get started. I am not a stupid person though and I am sure I'll catch on soon. Have so many questions though...

I'm curious as to why you spent the $$ to grow using hydro for your FIRST grow??? I probably would have thought about maybe a soil less medium til you got the hang of things. That is just my opinion, please take no offense to what I said. It is just that soil less medium is very forgiving. There are some great folks here that can and will help you out. Tons of good reading hear as well. Welcome to ICMAG.

I'm also surprised that you are going hydro for your first run, it'd definitely be easier to run soil; but my hats off to you, good luck and I look forward to seeing your journal!

Yeah I know. I want to just get it right from the beginning even if it is just a bit of trial and error. I would really like to know... I have germinated some Blue Cheese seeds that are now ready to go into the rock wool in the room. I have covered the rock wool with hydro clay pebbles in the hydro container. I would like to know what the best PH / EC is going to be during the initial stages and how often they would need water and for what period of times? I would like to try get this right first time :)

@ craigmaree-

Do some reading/searching the the Hydro sub forum section. That scares me that you are starting out with few clues!!! Yikes! Hydro is a great medium, but it makes you a slave to the growing process.

Best not to germinate all your seeds in case this does not work out.

Had an email from one of our customers today that planted 4 of our auto strains (we're talking 50+ seeds) in coco coir...she got a fungal overgrowth and lost all the seedlings. She's kicking herself now, wishing she had done some in soil, some in coco and some seeds saved and learn along the way.

Good luck!

Hydro isn't going to give you a generous learning curve, but good luck to you! Sounds like you have some learning to do.

Ace is the place for sativa's, IMO.

Bangi Haze. 100% sativa, with a compact growth structure.

Check out their site.
