Gmorning folks! Sorry for the lack of check in here.....been a super busy week around here. Sorry to hear about your pup SG. Got mine on antibiotics right now for what I hope is not kennel cough. Today's the first day that he's been running around the house again so I'm guessing he's feeling better.

I finally found a Ravnus lady!! She's finally bouncing back from being topped. Didn't seem to like that treatment one bit but she greened up over the last week and looked well enough. I cropped her two heads this morning. So far she's only had an SST.

Before and after the cropping....

This is just a update of plants from seeds. You've all seen the plants from cuttings.

Ravnus

This seedling has always been a big leaf plant. It is beginning to stretch so this may turn out to be male.

This seedling had a slow start but it is coming around now. Again I'm not sure of the sex yet. Like Ravnus this one is stretching too.

Goblin Queen

This is a clone I took from the twisted Goblin Queen. She seems to be growing without any twisting. She was the first one to flower outdoors and will be full of seeds from pollen dropped by Eminem and/or MTV.

This one is not a seedling but a clone that I'm trying.

Yellow leaf Goblin Girl

She seems to be struggling to my eyes. Maybe it's too much yellow and not enough supporting green. The mother is doing fine though. The mother is about 30% yellow. I'm going to keep watching her and probably take some cuttings from her.

I saw it comin, but had hoped it wouldn't happen to ya.... I also wanted to see an all yellow girl....

A lack of chlorophyll producing tissue in some tissues causes variegation with white or yellow coloured zones on the leaf, contrasting with the usual green tissue. It is due to some of the plant’s meristematic tissue losing the ability to produce chloroplasts, so that the tissue it produces is no longer green.

In a common type of such variegation, the part of the meristem that produces epidermal tissue loses the ability to produce chloroplasts. The margins of leaves may be composed only of cells derived from this merismatic tissue. Hence, this marginal tissue is white or yellow, rather than green.

Because the variegation is due to the presence of two kinds of plant tissue, propagating the plant must be by a vegetative method of propagation that preserves both types of tissue in relation to each other. Typically, stem cuttings, bud and stem grafting, and other propagation methods that results in growth from leaf axil buds will preserve variegation. Cuttings with complete variegation may be difficult if not impossible to propagate. Root cuttings will not usually preserve variegation, since the new stem tissue is derived from a particular tissue type within the root.

As these plants have some of their tissue unable to carry out photosynthesis, the plant will be weaker than the plain green plant. They should generally be expected to die out in nature and their only real source of survival is through cultivation.

She's not down and out yet my friend. I may still get something from her but we'll see. I'm going to take a couple of more cuttings from the mother that aren't all yellow. I like the variegation and it seems that it does need more green leaves to work.

I'm still having fun with it though.

Somewhere down the line, this subject will come up.
Manipulating mutations via cuttings hasn't had a lot of press.
Whether Paks project is going to achieve a unique viable flowering plant, or not, doesn't matter much.
The science and experimentation is knowledge gained first hand.

Before hand, I was the only one who knew for sure, how to alter the health of a Goblin line.
Now many of us know it.

I do agree with Sea4 that the absence of green chlorophyll will doom the viability of the plant.
Once the majority of the plant is yellow, the green minority can't sustain vigor in growth.

Still a fun experiment though.

Well - sh*t - #uck - pi$$.
My Pimp daddy purp - Enigma cut is no longer an enigma.
It's a female.
Damnit Jim

Here's the plan with my friend from them golden hills.
I have some beans coming from a potency tested(24%) female GDP.
They should be selfed S-1s.
I'm popping some new 'The Purps' stock for a tall stretchy male.

By winter I'll have a batch of PDP 2.0 Reg seeds
Only option I have now.

I have some of those Spyder x GDPs.
I think those need to be run and line bred to create some true Hillbilly lines.
I'm still down on a pheno run on those with you.
Just let me know.

I have to stay true to the PDP line and rebreed the purps and pure GDP.
Still need a male purps.
If I could get a bomb cut of GDP, then we're talking.
Save me some hassle to get a cut.
Long way to gold hill for a tested cut.
Be nice to get the real deal.
You got one of the GDPs?

I have two PDP regs left, I will put them down tonight. Lets hope for a male.

Good luck

I'm gonna get a male PDP no matter what.
Gonna do it right this time.

The good thing:
I will have a pick of the litter female of 10 fem and 3 reg bred females.
Better selection = Better PDPs
